She’s not, and that’s the point. This isn’t about authenticity or storytelling anymore. It’s about tearing down everything people once admired, strength, heroism, masculinity, beauty, tradition. It’s about diminishing men, eroding cultural identity, and weakening the foundations of the nation state itself. This is fifth generation cultural warfare masquerading as entertainment. Resist western man. Resist.

Can anyone explain to me how a scrawny little female is going to come anywhere near replicating this?

They made a Firefly continuation comic set 20 years after Serenity where all the white characters were removed and they were replaced by diversity characters. It obviously didn't sell and Boom! Studios lost the license to produce more comics in 2025. Why do they keep doing this over and over to beloved properties?

@ThatchEffendi The faith of the seven is monotheistic. Its one God with seven faces, kind of like the trinity

Weirdly persistent trend in Fantasy settings: Set up a Polytheistic religion to talk about Christianity. Most obvious is Faith of the Seven in Game of Thrones, which doesn't make a whole lot of sens and seems incredibly listless partially because GRRM was traumatized by his Catholic upbringing, and not in a fun way like Frank Herbert.

After Jordan Peterson's excellent Exodus series it was a pity his sequel on the Gospel ended up focusing on his idea of some secular, psychological version of the "Injil" Gospel rather than just reading the four Gospel accounts or even focusing on one of the books.

@memeticsisyphus Science, democracy, and Protestantism were all melting away people's faith in tradition well before either Carlin, Boomers or Gen X.

George Carlin infected Gen-X with this horrible apathy towards everything. The statue doesn’t just mock nationalism but belief itself. Any ideology, any group, any loyalty. It’s like they think they’re the first person to discover ideologies or positions all have tradeoffs, and because they’re not perfect it’s better to stand against them all. It’s as childish as it is false. A few minute conversation with anyone who puts on this front will quickly reveal which ideologies they feel are above such critiques. When exposed that John Stewart wry smile turns into the most vitriolic anger you’ve ever seen.

Desperate attempt to maintain a concept (“competitive authoritarianism”) used for moralistic denunciation despite its inability to helpfully explain anything going on in the real world. All governments try to make life hard electorally harder for oppositions — gerrymandering & state-media coziness are common features of Dem as well as GOP behaviour in the USA, for example — but that doesn’t require a new category of regime to describe it. All this kind of nonsense does is turn healthy criticisms of “unfair” behaviour into a hollow culture war about existential threats to democracy.
Zack Beauchamp@zackbeauchamp

I've seen a lot of takes that Orbán's defeat means that he was never an authoritarian in the first place. This is completely wrong — and, in fact, betrays a complete misunderstanding of both Hungarian politics and modern authoritarianism. Here's why.

During the conversion of Scandinavia, a God who was tortured and killed was a hard sell to Vikings so they went with: 1. Jesus was so powerful he came back from the dead and literally beat death itself. 2. He is a king who sacrificed his life for his followers.

I've got brand new data about American religion that was collected in October of 2025. And, folks... The share of Americans who are non-religious has dropped for the third year in a row. Atheists and agnostics are down to 5% each. Those are 2014 levels.

How do kids pass on the games they play? (Ring around the Rosie, Lemonade Crunchy Ice, Hi lo piccolo) Is there an apostolic succession of kids, perpetually passing them through the generations but only while they're kids, or do adults keep teaching them?
