While golf’s popularity has boomed in recent years, a troubling trend has been bubbling under the surface: the turf industry is struggling. Not with its practices, but its pipeline of talent. In today's newsletter, @willknightsTFE wrote about the importance of work being done behind the scenes at golf courses across the country and how the @SSCF_Foundation is helping the turf industry.

@DonWindlesham @golfcourses101 @HiddenLinks I think it’s worth the £300 but if you want to make it hurt less you can book the “Nairn Ticket” and play Nairn Dunbar in the morning. It’s a cool course and an easy walk. Makes the price tag less painful.

@golfcourses101 @HiddenLinks Possibly, but many believe that they have upped their green fees to capture the US tourists coming over to play Dornoch. I’ll stick to Brora and Golspie, which are great tracks at a fraction of the price. 👍

Another gem is Nairn Golf Club in Scotland. Established 1887, an Archie Simpson design, revised by Old Tom Morris & in 2018 a major renovation by Mackenzie & Ebert. Nairn is universally enjoyed & has a special charm. Anyone played Nairn? What did you think? @HiddenLinks

@golfcourses101 As many others have said, it has his best collection of par 3s. The one hole that always bothered me was the “Road Hole” because the tee shot was from the wrong angle which results in a less interesting approach shot.
