@moseskagan @girdley How about charging a little extra and having someone there to pump the gas for you?! 🫠

@girdley Gas is already usually priced at roughly breakeven (regular gas stations make money on the convenience store purchases)

What if you: 1) Start a gas station only for members 2) Price gas at about breakeven 3) Make your money from annual $199 member fees Why can only Costco get away with this model?

@antonia_mdprjct The endless debating and zero progress is pretty annoying regardless of the project. I do think that most proposals could be a lot better tho, and need more trees. 🤷‍♀️

Imagine being so miserable that you’d rather have your town/city spend taxpayer funds buying land so it wouldn’t be developed. Instead of taking a portion of the funds and subsidizing affordable housing, or other projects that benefit the taxpayer base.

@Dirtdog Family did 6wks in Europe the summer I was 14 and I still remember everything about it (not sure it was as great for younger siblings). Plus when I went back summer after college and after law school I didn’t have to hit every main sight (again)

These trips are terribly expensive. During those conversations in 2020/2021 my wife and I decided that experiencing life with our family was our top priority. We re-wired our thinking to allocate more of our annual budget to traveling and being together. Epic decision

5 years ago my wife suggested a 2-6 week family trip every summer. Our oldest of our 5 kids was 12 at the time and she was calculating how many summers we had left. It doesn’t make sense financially or for my work schedule, but we have done 5 of these now. Strong Recommendation

@exlarson Dead Wake is so good…it makes a page turner out of the story even though basically nothing happens the first few days plus you already know how it ends. Masterful.

The Utah Valley Parade of Homes was mind blowing. Not just the size and craftsmanship of these homes, but the sheer number that are being delivered in that area right now. We went to get inspiration for our upcoming residential builds, but walked away w/ a need for amenities 😂

Unpopular opinion. The iPad remains the most pointless device in apple’s lineup. I’ve pretty much owned every single one including the current iPad Pro with the matte screen. It’s been collecting dust. Still haven’t figured out what to use it for. - I don’t draw. - Most of my work, iPhone 17 pro max works. - Serious work, MacBook Air or pro. - Netflix etc? Apple TV What am I using an iPad for? Someone please prove me wrong. I so want to love it but just can’t figure out where it fits into my workflow. Do you have an iPad? What do you use it for?

We bought a house. The inspectors said there was a moderate amount of mold. Not enough to not buy it. When I spent a few hours there to plan some remodeling (before moving in), I got a terrible itchy rash. We had the mold dogs. 15 spots. Said rash didn't really clear when I avoided remodel house. Noticed it DID get better when I traveled. Had temp rental house tested. "Uninhabitable" according to a 'herts-mi' (dust) test. Moved into different rental (Thanks KARMA!!!). Sorting out remediation in house we are/will remodel. Does anyone have any really good experience with this invisible problem? We are getting three quotes from different types of remediators but I am looking for real-world advice.

A few years ago, I attended a tennis workshop for doubles with a well-known pro. Now, I'm not particularly fond of playing doubles, but I thought it would be a cool experience. Especially because there was a segment on mental toughness, and I don't think there are too many people who consistently perform in front huge audiences at the top of their skill level like pro athletes do. During that session, I asked the pro about how she handled situations when her partner on court wasn't performing well. I didn't expect her response, but I think of it almost daily, since it applies to every single project I work on, given the large number of people we manage across teams. She said, "you can't do anything if they're having a bad day, but you can make it worse." I've seen this play out on every single project, where making sure the team dynamic is healthy is a big part of my job. Remembering what side of the court you're on is crucial, especially when your partners are having a bad day.

Dear @Apple please bring back the iPod. Some of us want our kids to enjoy wandering around listening to music in the summer like we did but don’t want to give them phones. We have this old one and my kids are arguing over who gets it.

I’ve had a very difficult time just reading about the couple who aborted their Down’s syndrome child. It’s maybe the worst thing I’ve ever seen on social media - and that’s really saying something. It has made me feel physically sick for days now. I prayed for that baby’s soul last night… that child deserved so much and had a beautiful future ahead. They deserved birth, joy, family, love, - everything the child would have given to the world if they had not been brutally murdered. My mother was a special needs teacher before meeting my father and one thing she always showed me was how much people with special needs contribute to the world and brighten life. Anyone who has ever met anyone with Down’s syndrome knows how wonderful they are - a true gift in this world. Please join me in continuing to pray for that baby with me tonight. As for the parents… May God have mercy on their dark, wretched, demonic souls. I can only think of that Shakespeare quote - “Hell is empty, and all the devils are here.”

@SkiTownRE Closing in park city in early 2022, sellers would not budge even a day from contract closing date because they knew that in just the 30-60 days since signing contract, they could get a couple 100k more. 🤦‍♀️

I'm sending out property updates to clients and was reminded what a crazy time 2020-2021 was (in different ways). Clients won a deal after it fell out with 2 other buyers and still paid ~15% over list price. Current market value is ~40% higher than what they paid.
