@susie_dent happy new year (and congratulations on your Chester Honours :) ). We discovered impaired words as a new year's rabbit hole (acting chalantly) and thought perhaps you had some wonderful unpaired words you could share?

@mkn1ght @EX31Kev @fesshole Samesies!!!! I've never heard of anyone else doing this. Except I had to do it in descending order so the piles eventually evened out and petered down to one. It was sadly beautiful every time.

I used to have a spreadsheet documenting the number of Skittles of each colour in a pack. I'm married now and she'd found this hobby weird. I miss it.

@jessphillips My son's school is struggling with the systems and applications to move to online homework, including a phone app. He walks home, helping our work hours and getting exercise - a phone is useful. The problem isn't phones - it's integrating phones safely and effectively.

Not one school has ever mentioned this to me, I do run a homelessness surgery in one local school, one is in constant contact about their kitchen and dinner hall being condemned by RAC, others tell me they can't afford books so we did a fundraiser.

One of the biggest issues children and teachers grapple every day with is the impact of smartphones in schools. So many schools have already done an amazing job in banning mobile phones. Now, we’re changing the guidance so other schools follow their lead.

@Rochdale_Cowboy @jessphillips @brumshospice Yep - same on this! Needs a few days in the garage mid December to get it used to the heat, then comes inside for a week and then back out to the garden. Does the job it needs to do :)

If you had two minutes to explain a psychological topic / phenomenon to a non-psychologist - something that might leave them thinking "Huh, I never knew that… interesting and useful" - what would it be?

@Maria_maqs Corporate training & 16+ education are a short stone's throw from your previous career. Or if you fancy something completely different, you'd have some good basis for Project Management or Business Analysis. Or follow your hobbies! I'd say speak to the folks at Hays education/rec

Brits should wear face masks again to avoid new Covid lockdown, claims expert. Does this "expert" offer any evidence to back up his claim that face masks help protect against the spread of Covid? Because the evidence is very clear that they DON'T. mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/b…

@DerrenBrown If pills were in it, it would be a bottle. Chewing gum doesn't need its own varietal of container - so it's a bottle.

@AlexAuerbachPhD No problem with the mediator model - assume it's from McEwan at researchgate.net/publication/27…. My issue here is that it's an integrative model - a quick search on ResearchGate and WoS turns up no results showing real-world testing. I'd argue against the term 'evidence-based'.

@1980sRewind Of course! It was where the kids lived until they were 7 and could earn wages in the mills. Then they were allowed to live in the rafters until they were 18 - usually consumption had set in by then. At least - that was in Wigan. Funny reading all the other uses :p

@AlexAuerbachPhD @TMitrosilis Interested in your 60 mins - came across 'goal focussed coping' in a recent lut search but there's not much on it. Have you seen any literature? Considering this for a Master's project.
