@TheJasonJBailey Yeah, it is nice to just get off social media once in a while and spend more time outside.

@cdnpolifan I get that. I was off for Lent a few years ago and it was a nice break.

I haven't been that active on Twitter the last year. This is mostly a combination of feeling dejected from the federal Conservative loss last year and my mental health being negatively impacted by endless scrolling on social media.

I am still here, but now am trying to use social media more in moderation and more positively as opposed to just doomscrolling and being negatively impacted by what I see on the feed.

@dylan_eduu Honestly I'd be fine with either of them. The main reason is that I think Caroline Elliott has better messaging on cultural/social issues. But Iain Black has impressed me and I think he would be a great leader.

How I would rank the BC Conservative candidates in the leadership vote: 1. Caroline Elliott 2. Iain Black 3. Peter Milobar I wouldn't rank them on a ballot, but KLF would be 4 and Fulmer would be 5.

@politics_w_sami That's true, but it's hypothetical anyways since I don't live in BC (I used to, though).

@cdnpolifan Your vote would likely never transfer to them if you did rank them unless all of your top 3 picks got eliminated, though, so I’d still rank them if I were you

At one point I thought KLF would be decent if she won, but after her recent comments, I don't want her or trust her to be leader. Once Fulmer signed a deal with OneBC, he was immediately my last pick to be leader.

I think Elliott is the best option to appeal to both populists and moderates. Black has really impressed me in the leadership race. He would be solid. Milobar isn't the most "exciting" candidate, but he does have experience which is valuable, and he would be a good leader.

NEW: Alberta MLA for Lesser Slave Lake, Scott Sinclair has rejoined the UCP after sitting as an independent for the last year. #cdnpoli #abpoli
Scott Sinclair@mlasinclair

I have an exciting announcement to make. It’s one of the greatest honours of my life to represent the people of Lesser Slave Lake. You have placed your trust in me to be your voice, and that responsibility matters deeply to me. Over the past year, I’ve taken some time to reflect on certain moments and on how I chose to raise concerns publicly, particularly when it came to colleagues and teammates in government. While holding government to account is an important part of our Westminster system, I wasn’t elected to serve as a member of the opposition. I was elected as a member of the United Conservative Party, a team I was proud to be part of and one that the people of Lesser Slave Lake put their trust in.  Looking back, there were times I let passion and emotion lead my decisions. My public criticism of the Premier and the government, particularly around the budget, came from passion for our riding, but I recognize now there was a better way to handle those disagreements. I’ve always stood up for my constituents, and that’ll never change. But I’ve learned that how I raise concerns matters and that I’m best able to serve the people I represent when I work as part of a strong team. I’m grateful for the opportunity to move forward, and I’m glad to be welcomed back in the United Conservative Caucus, where I belong, working alongside colleagues to deliver for the great people of Lesser Slave Lake and for all Albertans. This is an exciting day for our riding and I’m ready to get back to work in Government.
