After killing Ali Shuaib, the IDF accused him of being part of Hezbollah’s Radwan forces, releasing a photo of the Al Manar reporter in military garb. “Unfortunately there isn’t really a picture of it, it was photoshopped,” the IDF told Fox News about the source of the photo.

This is a revealing interview with Hakan Fidan Turkey’s foreign minister about the how Turkey sees the talks underway between Iran & US in which they are mediating. He warns there is a serious chance some Gulf states will attack Iran and this will set off a chain of events equivalent to a nuclear explosion with consequences lasting 30-40 years. He says America wants to end the war but Israel does not, and a structural issue in world politics issue is whether Israel will prevail. He says US have a political problem. The US “publicly declared objective was the destruction of missile and military industrial infrastructure. We are largely faced with explanations that this objective has been achieved. Therefore, US public opinion and the world public opinion are asking, ‘If such a thing exists, why are you continuing this war, which has very serious economic repercussions for the whole world in a negative sense?' That pressure exists. But the problem, as with the Gaza issue and other issues, is that the world cannot apply a pressure mechanism on Israel. Of course, if America is going to reach an agreement or negotiations with Iran, it needs to be prepared to exert very serious influence on Israel. We will see who will prevail here”. He adds the US Iran talks can succeed “My message to both sides is, don't take these opening positions too seriously, but if there is a real intention on both sides, they can certainly be brought together somewhere. So, what is important here is that the negotiations continue, that the parties do not withdraw from the negotiations, that they are genuine, and that they trust each other." “I don't think the mediators are too involved in the content at this stage. Because it's too early, the discussion phase hasn't begun. (Regarding negotiations) Only one side's request has been conveyed to the other side. The other side will also convey its response to this, and after the positions are seen, if the mediators don't agree on these positions, they will have the opportunity to step in if they have more creative ideas and solutions. " Fidan claims that the region is being drawn step by step into a game scripted by Israel, saying, "At the point we have reached now, while a war is being waged against Iran, we unfortunately see that a seed of discord is being sown in the region through Israeli expansionism, which will make it almost impossible for Muslims in the region to unite again. In other words, our number one goal as Turkey is to prevent this discord from emerging. " Turkey’s advice to the Gulf states is “'Please be patient, don't react.' This reaction will leave long-lasting consequences. This is exactly the scenario Israel wants. That is, for Islamic countries to get into a long-term conflict with each other in the region. Please don't do this, this is our advice to both Iran and other countries." On the Strait of Hormuz 2 problems exist. The first “is to resolve the existing practical problems, particularly addressing issues related to certain vessels. The second is to determine how to build a lasting solution, which will form a fundamental part of any future ceasefire and peace agreement.” ahaber.com.tr/ozel-haberler/…

You say the military is committed to press freedom. Yet three journalists have just been killed by the Israeli military in Lebanon. You claim one of those killed was a Hezbollah ‘terrorist,’ but have provided no evidence to support that allegation. A written statement is not evidence. Nor is an photoshopped/AI-generated image of the journalist in military attire. It also does not answer the central question: why were three journalists killed? If one individual is now being cited after the fact, what is the explanation for the other two? Under international law, journalists are protected civilians. Any claim that they were lawful targets requires credible, verifiable evidence. I have repeatedly sought that evidence across cases in Lebanon and Gaza. The response has been the same: no evidence, no meaningful answer, and often silence. Silence is not accountability. It does not answer why journalists are being killed by the Israeli military.

The soldiers' conduct and statements in this incident do not represent the IDF, go against what is expected of IDF soldiers and will be investigated. In real time, after receiving the report of the incident, we acted to resolve the issue ASAP. I apologized privately, and I will say it again—this shouldn’t have happened. Our job is to maintain law and order, among that is allowing for freedom of the press.

There’ve been a string of early morning Israeli airstrikes on towns and communities in southern Lebanon, according to the state news agency as well as an attack on the southern suburbs of the capital Beirut. No details on casualties. Hezbollah says it’s carried out a volley of attacks on Israeli troops massing on the border

Trump has blinked first with the Iranians. He is currently distracting from that with a torrent of falsehoods. The nuclear threat that he said was obliterated was then imminent. The regime has been changed. Iran’s leadership is unable to communicate. All self evidently untrue
