If we want to help working parents - we should reduce the number of weeks kids have on school holidays. Most people get about 5/6 weeks holiday so with a partner that’s 10/11 weeks between you. Most schools now have 14 weeks of holidays - working parents simply cannot cope with that I would cut the summer holidays to 4 weeks and the October(a lot of schools now do 2) and Easter to one week. Which will allow parents to cover them using annual leave But then also allow parents to take there children out of schools for holidays any time during the year for 3/4 days - which they would have now gained extra because of the cut in Holidays, in order to avoid getting ripped off from their holiday or having to pay a fine
