I believe that all fellow humans are entitled to certain simple dignities, if for no other reason than to recognize that being alive is a struggle. These are: - I will look you in the eye - I will call you by your name - I will shake your hand After that, it's up to you.

seeing a lot of "higher gas prices won't affect me because I don't drive very much" and unfortunately it is my sad duty to inform you that your food does not teleport to the grocery store

Here’s the thing. The Constitution is amazingly clear on this. The states control their elections. Congress has the power to regulate them. There is a big reason the president is not allowed to be part of the process which is literally what he’s doing right here. It’s criminal.

Trump on Executive Order on Mail-In Voting: I don't know how it can be challenged. We will appeal if it is, but I don't see how anybody can challenge it. I don't see how they can challenge it.

The responses from MAGA world to the Kid Rock fly-by are a reminder how much their movement is bound up in trying to draw anger from other Americans. It's an insecure, resentful group of people who obsess over what other people think of them.

NEWS: Judge Amit Mehta rules Trump is NOT immune for key Jan. 6 conduct—including his Ellipse rally speech, outreach to officials, and related actions—finding they can be treated as campaign activity, not presidential duties. That means civil lawsuits can move forward. The court also rejected Trump’s First Amendment defense and blocked a DOJ effort that could have shielded him from liability.

A drive through Potrero Hill in 1975. This footage captures a drive through San Francisco's Potrero Hill projects in 1975. It’s the brief glimpses of the people who lived there at the time, along with the cars, that stand out the most to me. Watch the end for an incredible long tracking shot filmed while driving down 22nd Street between Iowa Street and 3rd Street. All those businesses were there for a long time and no longer exist today. This is the area where the Muni yard sits, along with Woods Yard Park. Back then, it was just an empty dirt lot. source footage 🎥: WMAR

Trump has destroyed the White House, "the People's House," decimating the East Wing and leaving a giant crater of dirt — which is a perfect metaphor for what he has done to America and the world. 😳👇

What if the White House ballroom is a metaphor for Iran / tariffs / fiscal policy / the Fed. Bulldoze a treasured national institution before making plans. Hide the rubble. Unveil a grandiose and self-aggrandizing vision. Prevaricate. Squirrel! Dither amid the wreckage. Fail to execute. Then discover the whole thing was unconstitutional.

This is a massive and unconstitutional voter suppression effort aimed at giving Trump the power to create a list of who is allowed to vote by mail. We know where this will go -- the targeting of Democrats for mass disenfranchisement. We will sue and we will win.
John Bresnahan@bresreports

Just a stunning executive order from Trump on voting by mail. The US Postal Service will monitor who gets mail-in ballots for federal elections & who mails them in

The math on this is correct and it makes Disney's pricing team look unhinged. Tokyo Disney adult ticket: $51 to $70 per day. Disney World: $109 to $169. A baseline Disney World trip for a family of four runs $7,400 in 2026, and that's before Lightning Lane, park hopper upgrades, or the $35/day parking fee. From Los Angeles, roundtrip flights to Tokyo are running $500 to $620 right now. The yen is trading at 155 to the dollar, the weakest it's been in decades. Food inside Tokyo Disney averages $40/person/day versus $60 at Disney World. Hotels near Tokyo Disney Resort start under $100/night. Disney World's value resorts start at $150 and climb past $350. Run the full trip. A family of four doing 5 nights and 3 park days at Tokyo Disney Resort lands around $5,000 all in from the West Coast. The same family at Disney World, staying on property with dining, is paying $7,400. That $2,400 gap buys you a bullet train to Kyoto, three days of the best food on the planet, and a story infinitely better than "we waited 90 minutes for Space Mountain in Orlando humidity." The reason this works is structural. Tokyo Disney Resort is operated by Oriental Land Company under a licensing deal. Disney collects royalties but doesn't set the prices. OLC optimizes for volume and repeat visitors. Disney Parks optimizes for per-guest revenue extraction. Two completely different business models applied to the same IP, and the gap has gotten wide enough that flying 5,400 miles is the rational economic decision. The real question is what happens when enough Americans figure this out that it stops being a secret.

At this point, Donald Trump is more likely to have a degenerative disease named after him than a ballroom.

@NotHoodlum @PrincessBravato It’s about damn time. Trump “offered” to pay for a ballroom when Obama was prez. Said he’d pay for it . (Trump doesn’t pay for anything). Obama said no. So Trump destroys WH. Kennedys supported Harris except for the former heroin addict brother. So Trump destroys Kennedy Center.

Trump’s Iran adventure was never just about Iran. Obviously. Anyone with half a functioning brain stem and access to a newspaper could see there was a larger game being played. Every bumbling escalation, every petulant exclusion of allies, every three-AM tweet that made foreign ministries across Europe spill their morning coffee, all of it was feeding something bigger. The systematic dismantling of the alliance Russia has wanted gone since 1949. And the truly staggering part is that people were surprised. Here is what any serious observer has understood for years: Trump was never pursuing American interests. He was pursuing an agenda that happens to align, with almost comedic consistency, with whatever Vladimir Putin needed that particular week. Whether by design, devotion, or sheer breathtaking incompetence, the result was identical. Every crisis became an opportunity. Every moment of international tension became a fresh occasion to sideline NATO allies, undermine collective defence, and remind Moscow that its most valuable asset was still very much on the job. Europe, to its considerable credit, worked this out early. Embarrassingly early, actually, for Washington. Defence procurement orders worth hundreds of billions, the kind of contracts that American military industry considered theirs by divine right, are being quietly redirected. To European manufacturers. To domestic supply chains. To partners who will answer the phone next year regardless of who won which primary. And here is the part that should really sting: in several critical areas, Europe is not catching up. Europe is ahead. Air defence integration, drone warfare capacity, artillery production, battlefield intelligence systems. There are domains where the assumption that American hardware is automatically the best option is no longer just questionable. It is laughable. Trump is running out of time. The clock is visible to everyone except apparently him. But the damage is structural now, and structural damage does not wait for election cycles. Russia never needed to destroy NATO. It just needed one man, one term, and enough Americans willing to look the other way. The rest of us have moved on. Quite profitably, as it happens. Gandalv / @Microinteracti1

For all you MAGAvets who love to call Trump critics “traitors”. Here is what defines a real traitor. A traitor gives aid and comfort to our enemy Russia by eliminating sanctions. Putin is now sharing intel with Iran so they can kill our troops. The traitor who did this? Donald J Trump
