It is actually exactly how it happened. Around 1.5–2.2 billion years ago, an archaeal cell engulfed a free-living bacterium, related to alphaproteobacteria. Instead of digesting it, the two formed a symbiotic relationship. The bacterium evolved into mitochondria, providing efficient energy production (ATP) via oxygen use. This created the first eukaryotic cells — single-celled organisms with a nucleus, organelles, and much greater complexity than prokaryotes. All complex life today (animals, plants, fungi, protists) descends from these mitochondrion-bearing eukaryotes. Multicellular life didn't appear until much later, but it was this important first step that led the way. It was the energy surplus that provided the means for multi-cellular organisms.

Disney's greatest modern achievement is making star wars fans like me completely apathetic I've read over 150 novels, played 20+ video games, thousands of comics, seen the movies probably 50 times each I dont know or care when the grogu movie comes out. I won't be watching it.

Sad news for Ramsey and for me personally. Ken Coleman told me two weeks ago that he has accepted a position as Sr. VP of Marketing with a large firm and today is his last day at Ramsey. Ken and Stacy have been personal friends of Sharon and Me for decades. We love them dearly and are very sad personally and professionally that Ken will no longer be a Ramsey Personality. He is a very talented guy with a penchant for personal growth so we are sure he will succeed mightily at his next stop. While I will no longer share a microphone with him he and Stacy will remain our good personal friends.
