@chadworks yes please! @MNHeadhunter, please start a twitch stream where you read JDs live, mock them, and give real recommendations as to better bullet points that engineers would actually give a damn about

if one of your VCs played a pivotal role in helping you make a key hire, who was the VC and what was the role?

In 2000 this online service was launched in Minneapolis by two founders that wanted to help people find cheap gasoline. #mntechtrivia

@akardell Wow. This was very thoughtful. Thank you. You were gonna win with or without talking to me. I’m grateful I had the opportunity to meet you. Yes, let’s catch up soon.

1/ Tomorrow, I’m kicking off December with 100+ days of posts about many of the people I’m grateful for in the 11+ year journey building HomeSpotter prior to our sale in May to Lone Wolf.

@casey__allen @1Marc @dornquast Thanks for sharing Marc. There are a number of @dornquast threads I'm grateful to have been on. He had a knack for impacting the trajectory of the entrepreneurs that were fortunate enough to have him as a mentor.

"Matthew, I honestly wouldn’t be where I am today without your honest advice" My good friend @1Marc had the good fortune to have @dornquast as an advisor to his startup. Their next meeting was in a few wks. I thought what he wrote was beautiful. marcgrabanski.com/rip-matthew-do…

It’s going to be a great day. I just woke up and a kind person on LinkedIn has already messaged me to tell me they think I would “do great in business”!

How did you hire your first VP of marketing? How did you find him or her?

@SamuelHulick IME it’s critical to separate the two. Otherwise ARR will look lumpy from month to month and you end up chasing your tail on “why”. It can also make ARR churn look better or worse than reality.

SaaS metrics question: Assuming that you're looking at monthly Net Revenue, are you more... • A) Distinguishing between recurring revenue and non-recurring revenue or • B) Treating all revenue as recurring revenue or • C) Something else/better ?

@SamuelHulick I’ve not seen it totally neutralize, but I do see it get less variant. The degree of cancellation propensity becomes lower the older the customer. Still, the oldest cohorts almost always have the highest retention rates given they only include the most loyal.

@chadworks We're in firm agreement on that. I wonder if there's a point where that kind of neutralizes out, though. e.g. Is a 5 year old subscription more or less likely to cancel than a 10 year old subscription? equally likely?

SaaS fact or SaaS fiction: • The longer someone has been a subscriber, the less likely they are to churn ?
