Chai and Why?

On Easter Sunday, Prof Ankona Datta starts the @chaiandwhy session with an elemental hunt through the periodic table searching for the elements of life.

Molecular-Interactions drive life processes. To understand the inner-workings of life can we send molecular sensors into living cells to ‘spy’ on the molecules of life and their communications? In this session, we see the chemistry of life unfold using molecular sensors.

Universe is dynamic. On Jan 4, Prof. Sabysachi Mukherjee shall discuss evolving systems, how they connect to familiar ideas like finding the roots of a polynomial, and discover why striking fractal shapes - including the famous Mandelbrot set — appear naturally in this process.
