Right now I’m charging my EV from the grid. It averages 4 miles/kWh. With current emissions it will emit 20g/CO2 per mile or 12g/CO2 per km. It costs 5p/kWh. For a full charge of 220 miles it will cost approximately £2.85. The car I’m charging is a 2021 MG5 which has covered 170,000. It’s well worth getting one if you can.

Reform would make an emergency cut in VAT at the pumps + scrap Reeves’s fuel duty hike. Together that’d save you 18p and 20p a litre on petrol and diesel. Labour are doing nothing…

@GhostmanMus @AutoPap They already are with the 3p per mle tax from 2028, and a new road fund licence for EVs of £195 per year. It was bound to happen....and actually if the funding goes to road costs then fairer with the more you drive the more you pay principle.

If it’s just a matter of transport, I think owning an EV now makes more sense than ever. Especially when it costs me approx £1.20 to charge for my week’s driving.

@ArvaTiberiu @AutoPap Nope 7p per kWh today and from April 3.5p for me so £1.20 is 17 kWh or about 60 miles and double that from April ..... after Jun who knows given what's going on!

@AutoPap Where do you charge for that amount? Imo this is misleading. You can only achieve that using solar panels.

President Trump is right to recognise America’s appreciation for the incredible bravery of our armed forces. British soldiers fought and died on the front line in Afghanistan and other conflicts.
