Yesterday was a long day. I was called for questioning in connection with a case that I believed had no merit, and I attended the questioning to present my version. However, the police arrested me at 5.30 PM. I was granted bail at 10 PM, and the Hon’ble Duty Judge clearly stated that he saw no offence in the case. He also said that he saw no mens rea and failed to understand why I had even been arrested. Grateful to @RaviSharmaTalks and @sidcool2302, the wonderful lawyers who helped me through this. Thankful to the many people, both online and offline, who supported me. I’m truly grateful. Of course, there are many who dislike you and use such opportunities to strike harder when you are down, but that’s fair game. It was your day, and you took it. I can take those blows and come back. At times like these, one realises the importance of ideological support. The people who stood by me at the most crucial juncture were neither close friends nor relatives, but those with whom I am bound by ideology. And it delivered for me when it mattered most. This incident has added many new layers of perspective, most importantly the ones we usually miss in the melee of day-to-day social media discourse. I’ll write about the specifics of this case another day. For now, I just want to say thank you so much to everyone who has been a well-wisher. I’m grateful. Thank you for monitoring the situation.

Appealing for Work From Home (WFH) won’t change anything. If the govt genuinely wants it, it can strongly push or effectively enforce WFH in sectors where physical presence isn’t essential. It’s common in the West but not in India because Indian companies still operate on a “presence equals productivity” mindset, where managers feel employees work seriously only when they are physically visible. If an employee isn’t exhausted by traffic, long hours, and physical attendance, they assume no real work is being done. There’s also a deeply ingrained feudal mindset where control, surveillance, and making juniors “feel the grind” is treated as management instead of actual productivity. Otherwise, WFH can solve many problems for both individuals and the country. It reduces traffic, pollution, fuel consumption, stress, travel time, road accidents, and daily expenses for individuals while improving work-life balance. For India, it cuts crude oil consumption and import bills, reduces pressure on dollars, inflation, and urban infrastructure, while easing overcrowding in metro cities and saving huge amounts of productive time otherwise wasted in commuting.

There is a belief that Karnataka hasnt seen enough growth, due to not having a solid regional party in the state, ever. Thats not statistically true. Would we have grown faster or more or lesser is subject to debate. We are net exporters of Coffee, Spices, Silk and many more products/commodities. We built a massive PSU ecosystem with HAL, BEL, BEML, BHEL, ISRO, DRDO etc. We built IISC, got an IIM and NLSIU, the top notch institutions in India. We did a revolution with massive Engineering colleges, along with every single Technology company and now the GCCs. We have been the IT capital of India and top IT talent pool for the world. We have some of the most sought Hospital care in Karnataka like Manipal, Apollo, Fortis, Narayana Netralaya, Narayana Hrudayalaya , Shankara Cancer Hospital on the private side and Nimhans, Kidwai, Jayadeva on the government side. Our GDP per capita is among the top 5 in the country, our Percapita income is much better than the National average, we rank low in crime rates. Health and women safety/empowerment indicators look good. Politically, we may not be as powerful/effective as Tamilnadu in bargaining with the Union Government but if we have developed so well despite all that, we are just fine. There is always a scope for improvement but lets not be apologetic beyond a point. #GemsOfKarnataka

This new Aadhaar card is being designed with privacy and security as the main objectives. Old Aadhaar vs New Aadhaar — Key Differences What will the new Aadhaar card look like?
