On 13 August 2016, I returned to Dubai after flying back to Zambia for 3 days to vote in the 11 August 2016 general election. The results were announced on 15 August. I will only come back for the 13 August 2026 general election if hired as a political analyst/ commentator

I was so happy when HH won. Little did I know these would be my worst 5 years as a Zambian. Still, I listened to his speeches. Until I could not. Grandiose self-praise. Scolding and labeling citizens. More (fake) promises. Worst of all? Blind and deaf to the suffering masses. 🧵

Well, now is that a surprise?? Just cut spending on the Military and on the bloated Cabinet plus many other useless ventures to start with and reprogramme our priorities in managing our health sector without Corruption. There surely could be some change. Political well imweee!!

The US Government is increasing pressure on the Zambian Government to sign a health deal that is not in the interests of Zambia by threatening to cut all health aid for HIV/AIDS, malaria, and tuberculosis if a mining deal is not signed soon. The @NewYorkToimes has written an article about this nytimes.com/2026/03/16/hea…

Nothing new here. They have the audacity to post it because they know there will be no consequences. Weak institutional oversight has enabled this nonsense for far too long, and it's still rampant in the hospitality industry and many foreign-run businesses.

I came across this on LinkedIn and can't believe such things are happening. This is ILLEGAL. Under Zambia’s Employment Code Act No. 3 of 2019, it is unlawful for an employer to categorically exclude Zambian nationals from applying for a job without justification. Section 14(1) of the Act is VERY clear. “Subject to the other provisions of this Act relating to the employment of an expatriate, an employer shall, in filling an employment vacancy, employ a citizen except where a citizen does not posses the skills required for that job or a citizen does not apply for that job." As if that is not enough, Section 5 is equally VERY clear. (2) (a) An employer shall not, in any employment policy or practice discriminate, directly or indirectly, against an employee or a prospective employee - on grounds of colour, NATIONALITY, tribe or place of origin, language, race, social origin, religion, belief, conscience political or other opinion, sex, gender, pregnancy, marital status, ethnicity, family responsibility, disability, status, health, culture or economic grounds; Explicitly excluding Zambians violates the law and is in fact subject to penalties under Zambian labor law. And honestly, even if this law didn't exist, it should occur that this is not right.

@SimumbaTrevor @piersmorgan Unfortunately, they are all muppets who fail to call his bluff. If they really wanted , they'd shut him down, but, eish,,,,,,,they have just finished with his last episode where he brided his way into Nicholas Maduro's bedroom and did nothing. They've failed to sort out Putin!!!

@piersmorgan I think even African countries should not participate. How can you impose such discriminatory restrictions on Africans?

Maybe England, France, Spain, Germany, Portugal, Netherlands, Norway and Italy should all pause participation in the World Cup while the various tariff negotiations continue with President Trump? 8 of the 10 favoured teams to win withdrawing might concentrate some minds.

In 2021, President Kenneth Kaunda passed away. Sky News invited me for an interview to discuss Kenneth Kaunda’s legacy. The episode was called " Last of African founding fathers, but what about liberation mothers" I argued that Kenneth's legacy was incomplete without the women in his life. My interviewer after the interview said you should write a book. I replied I am on it. Indeed been on it news.sky.com/story/the-last…
