Colonel Anil Yadav, a Veteran in late 50s, on the night of 21 February 2026 was assaulted by a group of six men on the road while returning from the Medanta Hospital in Gurgaon after attending to his ailing father. He was driving alone when a car in the lane on his right suddenly swerved to the left and though he tried to brake and avoid it, his car touched it. Being a Veteran, it came naturally to him to address the situation upfront so he got out to inspect the damage. Six men alighted from the other car carrying beer bottles and started arguing with him even though he was open to compensate for the minor damage monetarily. But they had other designs and began assaulting him with beer bottles and punches. They also damaged hia car with beer bottles braking the windscreen and lights etc. They pushed him into their car and tried to drive away with him but they couldn't figure out how to get his car moving, so they couldn't take him away to a secluded spot. Ultimately they had to escape as traffic was piling up, but only after getting money from him. Veteran had to be rushed to a hospital and is admitted there after the emergency medical protocol. Gurgaon Police IO, Sector 50 Police Station, detailed for this case, has still not found time to come to the hospital and take his statement, leave alone an FIR. She prematurely somehow also assumes that the Veteran might be the one who beat up six people after hitting their car and quietly drove away. We need to address this growing trend of young men on the streets feeling unaccountable, 'above the law' and 'entitled'. "मुझे एक बजकर 19 मिनट पर पुलिस का कॉल आया। पुलिस ने बताया गया कि मुझे यहां पर एक बाइक मिली है- R-15। बाइक का एक्सीडेंट हुआ है, लड़के की ऑन द स्पॉट मौत हो गई है। मैं दौड़ते-भागते वहां पहुंची। सड़क पर मेरा बच्चा पड़ा था। उसकी हालत बेहद खराब थी। बच्चे की स्पोर्ट्स बाइक के तीन टुकड़े हो गए थे। जैकेट के भी चिथड़े हो रखे थे। मैं 10 मिनट तक चिल्लाती रही। वहां एंबुलेंस खड़ी थी, लेकिन बच्चा वहीं रोड पर पड़ा था। मैं 1.30-35 तक पहुंची थी। मुझसे पहले मेरे ऑफिस की लड़की वहां पहुंच चुकी थी। मेरे एक पड़ोसी भी थे। मेरे जाने के 10 मिनट बाद मेरे बच्चे को उठाया। उसे एंबुलेंस में डालकर दीन दयाल उपाध्याय अस्पताल ले जाया गया। मैं भी पीछे-पीछे पहुंची। हॉस्पिटल में मैं 4 घंटे तक चिल्लाती रही। मैं अपने बच्चे की बॉडी मांग रही थी। मैं अपने बच्चे के लिए लास्ट चांस लेना चाहती थी। मैं अपने खर्चे पर बच्चे को प्राइवेट हॉस्पिटल ले जाना चाहती थी। लेकिन मेरे लाख कहने पर भी किसी ने मेरे बच्चे को नहीं दिया। बाद में उसे मोर्चरी ले गए। फिर पोस्टमार्टम के बाद मुझे मेरे बच्चे की बॉडी मिली। सिंगल मदर होने के कारण मैंने 23 साल तक बच्चे को अकेले पाला था। मैं हमेशा से चाहती थी वो इस कंट्री में नहीं रहे। मैं यहां के हालात, टॉर्चर देखकर शुरू से उसे कहती थी बेटा कहीं और चले जाना।" ये बातें इन्ना माकन ने कही। इन्ना के 23 वर्षीय बेटे साहिल धनेश्रा की बीते दिनों दिल्ली में हुए एक हादसे में मौत हो गई। इन्ना ने बताया कि जिस एसयूवी से बेटे की बाइक में टक्कर लगी, उस पर पहले से 13 चालान थे। ये सभी चालान ओवर स्पीड के हैं। उन्होंने यह भी बताया कि आरोपी को अंतरिम जमानत मिल गई है। मैं पुलिस से मिली तो मुझे कहा गया कि हमारी ओर से निष्पक्ष जांच होगी। हादसे में साहिल की मौत की यह घटना और उसके बाद उनकी मां की चीखें सिस्टम पर बड़ा सवाल कर रही है। आखिर हमारी व्यवस्था कब सुधरेगी। दुर्घटनाओं में हो रही इस तरह की मौते कब थमेगी। कब एक मां को यह नहीं कहना पडे़गा कि बेटा तू भारत छोड़ कर कहीं और चला जा। Mother Pleads for Justice After Son Killed by Unlicensed Teen Driver
