Dug more deeply into this situation. Seems @CDCgov was on the ball & able to quickly spot a faulty test component being restocked from external mfr, by using their enhanced quality review process. (dare I say, a lesson was really learned from 2020) As steps are taken to prepare for possible human cases of H5N1, this is exactly how we’d want the @CDCFlu to work. Spot an issue, notify labs, work with @US_FDA, implement solution. All with full transparency (at risk of being criticized). Bravo @CDCgov. @APHL @davidalim @politico @ScottGottliebMD @celinegounder
