@chap_ryan Not even necessarily that. It's the absence of a give-and-go game, a slow off-puck pace, kind of struggling to read off of and create with his linemates. In simple terms: He's a bit of a blunt object, but a brutally forceful one. And it'll probably work for him.

Jonathan Lekkerimäki is such an unbelievably skilled player who probably has a bright, productive career ahead of him with the Canucks, but man does his feel for the game often leaves me wanting. Just cannot sequence or build plays to save his life in this one.

@SaraCivian @TheStanchion As a Canucks fan I'll take it a step further and say it's fine to enjoy an unsustainable early season run because ultimately it's just sports and it's ok to want to commit 3 hours to a game and hope to just enjoy it. 😂

@TheStanchion This is such a good point, and literally one team wins the Cup. If the team is doing well enough to make a go at it, it's ok to enjoy it for what it is in the moment

I am 100% aware that the Canucks will most likely fall back to earth next season, but I also think the Canucks could win a Stanley Cup and I would end up reading an article about how that run wasn't sustainable and that they never should have won in the first place lolol

Chance quality and fan excitement are the same thing. Players circling back are saying "there is no exciting play to make", so if you change the rules to make them stop doing that, you make the game less exciting.

@risingaction I'd argue that maintaining possession is the optimal way to achieve the outcome, but maintaining possession is (for me anyway) the tedious part. I'd be at least curious to see what a shot clock would do.

@chap_ryan that's fair. Just not sure how adding rules means teams won't find new avenues to recreate what they're currently doing. I'd rather see the league find a way to incentivize chasing the outcome, not limit how you can chase

Why is players trying to attack the zone with speed a problem? Are there really worries that somehow possession doesn't change enough in OT? Is there evidence that adding a limit like this will actually make it more likely the game is settled in OT?

For a couple seasons when I was a kid I somehow ended up with one of those boxy Jofa helmets and I would tell myself they were cool because Petr Klima wore one. He was such a fun player to watch. RIP.

I have trans and queer family and friends. I've seen firsthand how even casual homophobia affects them, let alone outright hate and bigotry. I'm also embedded in hockey through my job. The trend in hockey surrounding Pride Nights is one that's deeply personal to me.

@SadClubCommish Only a small part--the much larger source of frustration is that the concrete evidence from a decade of failed "strategy" is seemingly not having an impact on the decision making.

Questions for Canucks fans: How much of your frustration comes from a feeling of powerlessness, that no matter how loud you yell the team doesn’t seem to listen?
