This is the tail end of the fall bird migration. Drones are not allowed in most NY park. I understand this is suppose to be an art happening. But has to be stopped! There are too many birds being kill during every migration. This is terrible for raptors. ilovetheupperwestside.com/1000-drones-wi…

Eurasian Wigeon, Bush Terminal Park. Today I was exploring for a better view of the 50th st cove. I got to the delablicated pier at 51th st. There, I had the great view of the cove. This EUWI was hiding behind the seawall. Then it swam out in the cove. I am happy to see it again.

@Antisomniac Behind 51th st, sanitation dept., There is a path to the pier. But there is a sink hole that you have to climb through. On 52nd st, goes to the parking space, there is an opening on the fence to the pier. it's dangerous and do it on your own peril!

Northern Shrike at North Fork Preserve, LI. There were about ten birders searching for this one. When I entered the Preserve, a photographer was leaving and mentioned that he was there for 3 hours and didn't see the bird! I was one of the last one to leave after searching

The second prize today was three Northern Saw-whet owls! They were all well hidden. I used a long lenses and cropped the photo so that the owls were not disturbed! They are cute little birds but they are ferocious! I saw them eating birds a bigger then they are!

Eurasian Wigeon at Bush Terminal, Brooklyn. The cove at 50th st. It very hard to see, there is a tall fense covering with overgrown bushes blocking the view. It's the same area where there was one last year. I am curious if it is the same one.

Short-eared Owl, Shawengunk grassland refuge. Started early in the day at Hudson river looking for Bald eagles floating on iceberg. Then went to the grassland looking for SEOW. It's a windy cold long wait. Saw the Rough-legged hawk flew by. At the very last light, they appeared!
