There are a lot of dumb takes about the Zubac trade now. I would've traded Mathurin, Acuff/Wagler and whatever late round pick goes in 2029 for Zubac. A healthy Pacers team is a EC favorite next year. Most of you have never watched Zubac play.

@chas1116 @indystar ... themselves the ability to keep it. They didn't want to create a possibility that the Pacers could control the destiny of the pick. They wanted to make sure the ping-pong balls had final say in the matter.

@JMV1070 It’s not even about the NBA “hating the Pacers.” The Pacers put themselves in this position. Has to be quite possibly the worst trade in franchise history. 2026 top 5 pick, 2029 unprotected 1st, 2028 2nd, Mathurin, and Jackson for who is at best an average NBA center. Maybe.
