OH NO…ANOTHER DISCOVERY AND THIS ISN’T A GOOD LOOK FOR THE JOCKEY CLUB, BRACE YOURSELVES: The Jockey Club’s executive offices sit at 250 Park Avenue, New York, NY 10177. Yes, Park Avenue. One of the most expensive corporate corridors in America. Home to Fortune 500 headquarters. Global banks. Private equity firms. High-end retail just steps away on Madison & Fifth. That’s where the executives of the governing registry of North American Thoroughbred racing operates. Not Lexington. Not the Horse Capital of the World. Not the hub of breeding, farms, sales, and horsemen. Lexington, Kentucky where the sport actually lives, offers dramatically lower operating costs and direct proximity to the industry’s backbone. This isn’t about geography. It’s about priorities. When aftercare is underfunded… When Southern California and other jurisdictions are fragile… When trainer expenses rise and small owners are squeezed… Why is the sport’s central authority’s executive offices headquartered on Park Avenue? If the mission is “the improvement of Thoroughbred breeding and racing,” then answer this: • What is the annual cost of maintaining executive offices at 250 Park Avenue? • How much could be saved by relocating executive leadership to Lexington? • How many aftercare placements or safety grants would those savings fund? • Why aren’t the executive offices headquartered in the heart of the industry it controls? Park Avenue signals corporate prestige. Lexington signals industry partnership. For an organization that calls itself a steward of the sport, the address sends a message. Stakeholders deserve answers. REFORM IS COMING. REPOST AND SPEAK OUT NOW. @jockeyclub @RepoleStable
