@LALMuse Some of these Mavs fans literally don’t understand the CBA — the Laker’s lure, heritage, history, loyalty & worldwide appeal & all the $ and legacy that comes with that unique connection if you’re an elite BB player. Luka isn’t returning to Dallas unless it’s the Lakers’ idea.

I understand the delusion from Dallas fans saying Luka will go back in 2028: If we traded Luka after one year it would be tough so I know they feel horrible after he was there for 8 years, but at some point you just have to realize it won’t happen

@Mavs_FFL I know Luka loves Dallas and still has a home there… but.. LA gives him more exposure. And it’s good for his career and long term. I think his talent was hidden with the mavs and he wasn’t talked about much with them. :)

Tom Thibodeau and Billy Donovan are the most prominent available coaches, but that’s just common sense, not inside information. Sean Sweeney will be an excellent head coach much sooner than later, but parting with Kidd and hiring his protege makes little sense.

As I’m processing the JKidd news… I think this is part of Masai’s long game to bring Luka home. Clean house of anyone that might have known about the trade, mend fences with Luka (and Dirk), and work to pair Cooper and Luka up in 2028. If he could pull that off, it would be immediate folk hero status.

@MavsMuse Kyrie wouldn’t want to be part of a rebuild. This current team is nowhere near the Nuggets, Spurs, and OKC or even the Wolves and Lakers. The Spurs’ timeline arriving early makes the Luka trade hurt more.
