It is deeply unfortunate that an experienced journalist like Mr. Hussain would make such a sweeping statement. I spent 17 long years working at Dawn, and I can state with authority that such typographical errors, while regrettable, were not uncommon in the industry. Even globally respected institutions like The New York Times maintain a regular corrections column to address mistakes from previous day publications. At Dawn, I recall a notable incident back in 2014 when our chief copy editor mistakenly expanded “PTI” as “Tehrik Taliban Pakistan” in a report. Upon review, it became clear that the error occurred because the story was about PTI, and in the editing process, TTP was inadvertently altered. During those days lots of stories about TTP was being published. The fallout was immediate—Dr. Shireen Mazari, then Information Secretary of PTI, reacted strongly, and Dawn issued a formal apology the very next day. Given his own experience as a former editor, Mr. Hussain is fully aware of how such errors can occur despite editorial safeguards. To present them as anything more than human oversight reflects a lack of professional nuance and fairness.

So many oil fields were attacked, very expensive jets were shot down and I stopped the war. Asim Munir, 2027.

Had a detailed telecon this evening with US @SecRubio. Our discussions focused on the West Asia conflict and its impact on the international economy. We particularly spoke about energy security concerns. Agreed to remain in touch.
