100% agree with everything! 1. First Look is a "cheat" to avoid taking photos between the ceremony and reception. Keep first look at the aisle. 2. Private vows at first look are just for social media (see also #1.) 3. "Sweets table" is for those who are leaning into the "make everyone happy" crowd and is the dumbest thing to befall a solid wedding plan. Save Our Cakes!! 4. Just order the personalized note pads (see also #7) 5. 100% agree! Dress designs can be "wildly" different (i.e., a 35yr old mother of 4 Matron of Honor would look best in a gown befitting her body style; whereas the 17 yr old stringbean of a little sister of the bride, the "Maid of Honor", can be beautiful in a different style but of the same fabric as the Matron's gown.) The free-for-all needs to end 6. This is the worst. ADDING: 7. Requesting all guests dress in a specific color palette because, "pictures". UGH! If you cant be bothered to order some notepads, candy boxes, or matchboxes, then I cant be bothered to dress in your "hues of lavender, gray, or light blue"

i’m a hotel girl. i cannot do airbnbs. hotels have a rewards program, bars, restaurants, spas, breakfast in the morning. i don’t even like staying with other ppl to justify renting an airbnb.

Currently caught in a customer service doom loop. I want a refund on a non-refundable hotel booking which sounds like an absurd request except for the tiny detail the THE HOTEL CANCELLED THE BOOKING.

@Michellek4040 @emilykmay I met my therapist at my nail salon. We hit it off and she offered to refer me to someone. She ended up being a good match for me. We’ve discussed that we both knew that day that we’d either be therapist-client or best friends. We’re both kind of sad sometimes which way we went!

@SkinnySC @_Zeets This fundamentally misunderstands how generative AI works. It’s not a useful tool. ChatGPT doesn’t know anything. It’s not just that the kids aren’t learning. They are trusting the output of gen AI. You can’t ask AI a question and get a real answer.

@ArtAutonomy I’m perfectly happy to have friends with different opinions. I’m unwilling to socialize with people who don’t are hateful. Transphobia, racism, sexism, homophobia, and all other bigotries aren’t “different opinions.” They are hateful values and I don’t associate with them.

All of my hobbies lead to liberal friends. I’m okay with not having the same opinions, why can’t they? Or like maybe we just collect the mushrooms & not talk about it.

@Cluffalo I think the pet theory is that if overweight baggage was a problem, it should be banned versus charging extra for it.

@crulge I want to clarify. When I say we need better language, I mean to replace phrases like “low support needs.” I think all autistic people should remain on the autism spectrum.

@crulge I put support needs in quotes because it’s a phrase that is distinctly imperfect and encourages the idea that “high functioning” people don’t need support when in fact we often just learned to cope (and therefore have bonus trauma etc).
