@LSXYZ9 In hindsight, empowered recall would have been the best quest by far if it had a separate activation besides normal recall, like bind empowered recall with V like how Toplaners quest TP works.
This is so much better tbh.

I was really struggling to make Gwen work the past few months, but after a lot of testing I found a REALLY good setup which should carry over to next season even with the Dusk & Dawn nerfs. I'm mainly looking for people to read through my thought process and test this setup or give me feedback, I have already had really good success with it. Here is the explanation:
The issue with Gwen:
Gwen is one of the best hyper carries currently in the game even after a lot of nerfs to her abilities and items, but the main weakness of the champion is how easy she is to punish early game. She has one of the slowest and unhealthiest clears, you finish around 2:50 with half hp meaning that you can never contest the enemy jungler at all.
On top of this, a lot of the current meta junglers counter her and her level 6 is a lot weaker than it used to be, meaning you can't really contest early objectives unless you have a huge advantage. Her first item slot is also really tricky because you choose between going DPS/Burst (Nash or Lich) which tends to fail in jungle or building D&D which is expensive and has a terrible build path.
Her secondary runes with the conqueror page never feel satisfying as well, you either go scaling AP runes but then miss out on cosmic insight/free boots to hit your first item faster and have lower smite cd OR you take those and you miss out the scaling AP making your late game much worse and losing a lot of damage at 2-3 items.
The setup + early jungle pathing I have been using solves these problems.
The Solution:
The first issue with Gwen that I talked about is her terrible early game and clear, the way I have been avoiding this on the KR server (which punishes weak early game champions the hardest) is by doing raptors -> red -> krugs -> reset and purchasing a dark seal then going to my blueside and clearing.
I actually stole this idea from a lot of the KR Lee Sin/Sylas players who do this almost every game. It used to be a very popular strategy a while ago but people stopped doing it as full clearing/invading became more popular.
The 3 camp dark seal is good for three reasons:
1. You remove almost all chance of getting invaded
2. You come out of your clear full HP with an item lead to fight the enemy jg on crab/their raptors
3. You still have an opportunity to gank (before or after your reset) without risking all of your camps being taken
Anecdotal evidence but since doing this clear I haven't been invaded much and when I have been invaded I end up just beating the enemy jungler or at least having a chance to contest my camps without a risk of dying. Also put your third point in W if you plan on 3 camp ganking then resetting or put a point in Q if you are going to clear after.
For her first item, Dusk & Dawn is pretty much a necessity, even after the nerf to the base stats and buff to the passive it will still be very good for Gwen because you NEED an item that can give you hp in the jungle role or you miss out on so many opportunities to skirmish. It also scales very well and the issue of price gets a lot better once you take the rune page attached.
First Strike gives you extra gold income but the main reason you take it is to gain access to both the inspiration and sorcery tree. This gives you pretty much all the runes you want and just gives you a lot higher gold income since you have the first strike keystone, the free boots AND triple tonic which help you hit D&D much faster.
Shadowflame second is the best in slot just because Nashor's/Riftmaker don't give you enough AP/DMG to function later in the game, they exist purely to spike at 2 items then fall off. HOWEVER D&D is the most versatile first item so if you wanted to you could still run something like Rift second and it would be fine even with First Strike.
Rabbadon's third will ALWAYS be the best, Gwen's AP ratios are unmatched and fourth will typically be Void, but Zhonya's can work as well.
Why take flash/ms shard/green smite?
I started going Flash because while Ghost gives you angles to run people down especially in early game fights, Flash is so much more versatile and combos well with surprising people with burst damage from EQ Flash or R Flash. It also helps with the invading issue because junglers are more likely to invade when they see you don't have flash since they know you have 0 escape (ghost is too slow to save you from things like a pantheon or lee sin flashing onto you)
Movement Speed shard is definitely the most questionable part of the setup, it feels like compensation for sitting on tier 1 boots most of the game and not taking ghost, your clear does get slower and you need to use two smites to make it to crab in time. Taking adaptive shard is still fine but you NEED the attack speed shard or else the clear is really bad.
Green smite is probably the best in slot jungle pet, it was buffed at the season start along with red smite, but red smite should ONLY be considered for the slow. Gwen doesn't use it well since she already has a big slow on R, and the red pet slow doesn't really slow them much more once they get hit by your R. The 5% max hp true dmg is very negligible, 100 damage to a 2k hp target compared to the 200-360 shield which refreshes out of combat and on camp kill. I think it should be clear as night and day that green smite is hands down the best pet in the game and you should literally run it on every champion except something like a rocketbelt user who can apply a slow to an entire team or something like Panth who can apply it to a whole team with his R. On top of this since you don't build that much hp on Gwen the small shield you do get ends up being way more significant.
Your main goal playing this setup should be avoiding enemy jungle, taking their camps to punish poor tempo and covering ganks when you have nothing else to do, then once you hit 2-3 items you can look to contest objectives. If you manage to get unleashed smite before enemy jungle you can find angles to contest early objectives as well.
Also random thing I forgot to mention but you should always take a potion for your first clear, just in case you get invaded.
Long post but I hope this helps give some insight and I can get people to test out the build so I know if its just me burning down the kitchen or actually cooking.
@TrimRaccoon@BluebriarArts Sukuna isn't really one either, so maybe it would work with Mahito too? The argument could be that Mahito is concious of the action he did and he is considered the human cursed spirit
@BluebriarArts Mahito might be the biggest ct merchant in the series. Normally I wouldn’t hold it against him but with higuruma he’s just cooked unless he gets off free bc he’s not a human and thus not subject to Japanese law.
Technique-confiscated Mahito watching as Higuruma descends upon him with the sword of instant death
(Judgeman did not look kindly upon him being a serial killer)
@ChargersBang@SomaKazima2 As someone who worked the night shift at a hotel alone... I would get bored as hell and watch the cameras lol. You don't wanna know what crazy ass shit I've seen
