The EHRC guidance does not account for people like me. It was not written for the full reality of how human beings actually exist in the world. It was written for a simplified version of humanity that does not reflect what venue staff encounter every single night. I choose to use the men’s bathroom. That is my decision. My body. My choice and venue staff keep trying to override it. Deciding for me. As if the entire point of the guidance was to hand that power to a loo attendant. Here is what actually happens. Men walk straight back out of the men’s bathroom when they see me. Some check the sign. See it says men. Walk into the women’s anyway. Then some of those same men find me at the bar later behind their wives back. It's much easier for them, they don't have to attempt to look remotely female any more, they can say they're following the law and there's nothing you can do.

And you need to stop thinking people have a right to do whatever the hell they want. If that individual was as convincing in real life and clearly trying to make people believe it’s a man entering womens spaces, she should expect a challenge, a police inquiry and perhaps some limitations on intentionally misrepresenting her sex and frightening people, especially little girls. As a woman, she should have a right to female spaces, she doesn’t have a right to go in there and intentionally deceive people to the point they are frightened or believe the law is being broken. She did this to herself. It’s not consequence free.

Did you not read? I said she is welcome in the women’s. She is going to need to be prepared to be challenged and should not be trying to be seen as a threat. If she goes to great trouble to be perceived as a man, she’s going to have trouble - as she should expect because men are the threat in womens spaces. She should not impose herself on men, but she also cannot make herself a nuisance and a threat to women. There are no “trans” people in the sense that you are implying. There is no one for whom sex is irrelevant or can be overlooked for their own personal benefit and comfort at the expense of everyone else.

Unbelievable how many crazy people try to use this arguments. It’s unfortunate that that woman has intentionally made herself into a perceived threat, despite not being the threat she is trying to deceive others into thinking she is on quick glance. Womens spaces are set apart for those of the female sex for safety, comfort and privacy from those that do not share their sex. That includes her. Just as the man in a dress is making himself and others uncomfortable in the men’s room because he looks like a walking siren of instability, so too does this woman. While men are annoyed and wary, many women and girls are terrorized by men in the locker room and restroom - for good reason. They do not have the physical power to confront the potential threat. The men are bullying and showing open disregard for women. She should expect to try to find a way to use restrooms that do not make women and children uncomfortable or work through how to appease their concern gently. She should expect to be confronted. I have never met a masculine woman who is annoyed by doing this - she understands and doesn’t want the risk imposed on other females of any age either. However, the vast majority of women who take T do not remotely look like men and would not have a hard time in the locker room and restroom. They look like women who have been disfigured - I do not say this to be mean, it’s just true - their bodies have been carved up and they grow facial hair on a clearly female face/frame. Chase Strangio and the more than 50 women I’ve seen up close and personally who’ve gone through this are a good example.
