The announcement from Minister Adrian Dix is an overdue admission of what many of us have been saying for some time: British Columbia needs more power, more firm capacity, and a serious long-term plan to meet the demands of families, communities, and industry.
I welcome the recognition that conservation, system upgrades, new generation, and transmission all need to be part of the solution, but British Columbians deserve more than a press release. They deserve timelines, costs, accountability, and a clear answer on how this government intends to keep power reliable and affordable while demand continues to rise.
For years, the NDP has pushed renewable electrification while failing to ensure we had future supply, transmission, and the firm capacity needed to back it up. The result has been growing pressure on BC Hydro, major industrial uncertainty, rising infrastructure costs, and increasing dependence on importing power when we should be strengthening energy self-sufficiency here at home.
Exploring projects like Site E and Homathko is significant, but it also raises serious questions. What are the expected costs? What are the environmental and First Nations consultation timelines? How will ratepayers be protected? How will government ensure these projects do not become another example of late planning and escalating costs?
British Columbia has a clean energy advantage, but that advantage only matters if we plan responsibly with realistic targets.
As opposition critic we will continue to press for transparency, realistic demand forecasting, firm power planning, cost control, and a true made-in-B.C. energy strategy that puts British Columbians first.

Folks, even NDP voters are jumping ship. Eby’s approval rating has crashed to a historic low as dissatisfaction grows in his own base.
That’s what happens when you abandon the province: crush our resource economy, attack faith and family, and put ideology over common sense.
British Columbians deserve better. The Conservative Party is ready to deliver it.

Delta families and commuters have every right to be fed up. After more than four hundred and fifty million dollars of taxpayers’ money have already been spent, along with years of delay, the NDP government has terminated the Massey Tunnel replacement contract. Yet they claim that restarting the work through multiple separate contracts will neither cost more nor take any longer. This defies common sense.
This is the same NDP that routinely sends major contracts overseas, including a billion-dollar BC Ferries deal, rather than supporting the skilled local workers and businesses here in British Columbia. Hard-working families deserve far better stewardship of their tax dollars.
I fully support Delta Councillor Dylan Kruger’s call for a full independent investigation into this spending and these repeated delays. Transparency and accountability must be restored.
British Columbians deserve a government that delivers critical infrastructure efficiently, on time, and on budget while respecting every dollar and creating good local jobs. When we form the next government, that is exactly what we will do. Together, we will end the waste, restore competence, and build the safe, prosperous British Columbia our families and communities need.

🚨 Under the Liberals, intimate partner violence keeps rising and women are paying the price.
📊 128,175 victims of police-reported IPV in Canada in 2024.
📊 Nearly 8 in 10 victims were women and girls.
📊 A woman or girl is killed by gender-based violence every 48 hours in Canada.
And THIS is the kind of rhetoric being defended in the House of Commons? Shameful. Victims deserve accountability, not political spin.
Retract the comments. Apologize publicly. Canadians are done tolerating this. 🇨🇦

I am so happy that my good friend @KerryLynneFindl is now elected leader of the @Conservative_BC.
My beautiful province of BC has a leader who will take our province forward when we elect her as Premier. #bcpoli

The NDP’s reckless push of DRIPA and mishandling of reconciliation has triggered a full-blown crisis of confidence in private property rights across British Columbia.
The Cowichan decision treats Aboriginal title as senior to fee simple ownership, creating dangerous uncertainty for every homeowner, farmer, resource worker, and investor. The NDP is now appealing the ruling they enabled while pretending there’s nothing to worry about.
I fought and won a landmark Supreme Court of Canada case defending property rights. In office, I will repeal DRIPA, restore legal certainty, and put British Columbians’ property rights first.
British Columbians own British Columbia. No more two-tier governance.
Join me as we end the division and rebuild our economy.

@Spicermania @RMapleCan We are heading in the wrong direction at the moment. The Liberal voters are out of touch with reality. But we have the resources that the world needs and we rebound.

@RMapleCan Canada = The Titantic. Trudeau hit the iceberg ripped you in half and bailed like the closeted homosexual coward that he is. Carney is playing his Elbows with the band. There is nothing you can do. You are going down down down into the abyss.

It is wonderful to read that the National Post understands that @Conservative_BC and @KerryLynneFindl are united conservatives with common-sense values of lower taxes, freedom to live our lives, and freedom to choose our faith. Conservatives will form the next BC Government.

@BillboardChris This is becoming all too common from this generation. They yell and swear attack and try to intimidate. Truly unfortunate that they get this negative emotional. Unhealthy behaviour.

📉 350,000+ people just abandoned B.C.—and 2/3 of those fleeing to other provinces are young locals under the age of 40.
Our brightest minds are giving up on the Pacific promise because of crushing costs and endless regulatory gridlock. Here is the common-sense plan to stop the exodus:
