I hate dismissing the 2021 team so I won’t accept calling it a fluke. It was certainly an outlier but they were money all year. Can’t even debate every other year it’s simply unsuccessful & quite frankly boring

@ButcherBoy415 The #SFGiants are now 714-746 (.489) since the 2nd half of 2016. If it weren't for the 2021 fluke, it would be even worse.

@GiantHotTakes The org needs to sell and sell hard. Trade Webb, Adames, Devers, Chapman and whomever for prospects and build around Roupp, Eldridge, etc...take this team to the studs and rebuild from scratch. I think Tony V would excel managing a young team. @Chet_Yoder

I would love nothing more than to be positive and cheer these guys on. We’ve done it for a DECADE. Something has to change.

But I think down the road he could be a nasty closer. I see his stuff more sustainable long-term in a relief role.

@GarlicFryRy I saw Whizzy's last outing was good. If he can string together a few more good outings, bring him up. His stuff is filthy, give him another chance. This season might be done anyway.

@GarlicFryRy You're not wrong, but never thought it'd be a contender w/ this patched up pitching staff.
Maybe if Whizzy and Birdy were ready to go, it could be better, but we have no bullpen. Just pieces. Just poorly constructed, but Buster was handcuffed w/ that after he spent on the bats.

I love the guys stuff & he pitched well his last outing, but can't seem to get any consistency over a period of time.
I still think he'd make a nasty closer someday, but maybe not in the Bigs...

It is probably not too early in the year to start tinkering with the roster to upgrade some clear opportunities in the back end. Given that they were just swept and had a brutal first month, some of those moves feel like they should happen soon.

May would be a good month to call up Eldridge. Not as a savior but as a legitimate threat at the plate and someone to put pressure on the big-money guys who aren’t hitting.

I’d argue right now, more than ever before would be the perfect time to do so. Target 2028 with a wave of young guys and the. Go make a couple big signing then after the books have cleared

This has been true for years, but the Giants pretty clearly need(ed) to be built from the ground up because many of the current roster issues are a reflection of the draft/signing misses they have had over the past decade+.
