@ohiain @DracoOnTheBid How do you handle stocks like $COST.
I was in at 988 at the ma50 but its just too slow. I am losing opportunity cost elsewhere. Even a breakout is barely 10% ( ADR is 1.95%). Commons at this price are killing me.

Today, $ONDS closed on high volume > 50EMA + VPOC, and if you missed the U&R setup/entry this morning, don’t make the mistake of chasing strength into highs. I’d rather wait for tightness on the right side, let price digest, and look for the next asymmetric risk-defined opportunity. If $ONDS runs this week without me tomorrow, that’s fine, because there will be plenty more opportunities ahead. Patience, patience, patience, and more patience.

@optionscjp I mean he made that money no doubt. u/SIR_JACK_A_LOT (Kevin) is a WSB legend to those who know. Not the best trader ever but being the best at WSB and taking wild bets in a bull market pays. He was also 22-25M at some point. He's a momentum trader, this is how he earns his worth.

The dangerous part is that he’s telling people to go all in on bullshit like that when he’s not even all in. He’s sitting in a bunch of safe havens in his $11 million IRA account and telling everybody they should go all in in their portfolios
He is also telling people that he made the $11 million by going all in on one stock which I’m now hearing from people who know him from a few years ago, saying that is not even true and that it’s all from him getting stock compensation when he worked at Google.
Again, I don’t know if that’s true, but I wouldn’t doubt it.

Do you really want to buy the FIRST pullback after a 30% move for the $QQQ?
Go back and look at $SNDK, without question, the strongest leader over the last 8 months. Even that name had a 7 week and a 9 week consolidation on the run up.
So tell me again why you need to buy the high flyers on potentially Day 1 of a pullback and base building?

@ohiain Been trying to learn this, not much success, Cut $RKLB, $NBIS, $ARM and $AMD for a grand 20% pop if I look at invested and Profit numbers. Could have atleast doubled easily.

Something I’ve done significantly better over the last 6 months is letting my winners actually work for me instead of rushing to lock profits the second I see green.
2 years ago, I would take profits way too early because psychologically it just feels good...sounds familiar, right?
Locking gains gives instant validation and certainty. But with this market recently, it's been very evident to me that some of the best trades require sitting through pullbacks, volatility, and unrealized P&L swings while the trend continues developing.
It takes time & the patience of a sloth to understand.
Ironically, the majority of my trades still end up being b/e or small losses. But the winners that I actually sit with now have started paying for everything else and then some...
It's a big psychological shift for me this cycle. I've never seen anything like this market.
Still learning every single day, but I now understand why so many great traders obsess over protecting downside while letting strength compound.
The answer was sitting in front of me all along.

@anandragn A little different strategy but I am happy with the way I followed up "this crash".
All my trailing stoploss got hit at open, Profits secured. Kept following same/other leaders to the bottom and got back most positions at ma9. Secured profits and have unrealized profits again.

$SOXS finally a mean reversion opportunity today.
Mean reversion trades usually start as quick hit-and-run type moves, day trade/couple of days at most.
$SMH back to 5 SMA. Hard to know if there’s more downside ahead, won't overstay the welcome as usual.

$SOX Semiconductor Index On the weekly timeframe, there have only been two times when SOX had successive weekly closes above the 2 StdDev Bollinger Band with this kind of price acceleration. But there has never been a stretch with 5 consecutive weekly closes above 2 StdDev… not even during the dot-com era… until last week. The last multi-week extension like this was Nov 2021, when SOX closed above 2 StdDev for 3 straight weeks. $QQQ is now trading 9.8 ATRs above the 50 SMA
This has literally never happened before in the history of the QQQ ETF since its inception in March 1999.

But its a hot data center theme, it will probably be +20% by next weekend.
