Getting debt-free feels incredible, and I did the same, I prepaid my home loan as aggressively as I could. BUT looking back, it was actually the cheapest money I’d ever get, at ~7%-8%. If that capital had instead been deployed into the markets, long-term returns 15% (or even more) were very achievable. People don't realize this when they're prepaying the loan to become debt free, but realize this much later when they look back at markets and see that they missed a massive opportunity. #HindsightBias
