Prediction markets found their durable engine and it wasn't elections "By the end of 2025, sports accounted for 85% of Kalshi's trading volume and 39% of Polymarket's. Tech and science markets grew 1,637% year over year. Economics markets grew almost 1,000%. Politics, the vertical everyone assumed drove everything, grew only 43%. Prediction markets found their durable engine and it wasn't elections." "So again, it goes back to what I was saying earlier: the gamblification of society is happening whether you want it or not, and these prediction markets are the new monsters in town. So prediction markets are not sports betting." "But right now, in my opinion, the main engine keeping them growing is actually sports trading, and they're gonna build on top of this for sure." "Well look, I'm just gonna say that when it comes to how regulators are gonna see this, that's what's gonna define how these markets are gonna be labeled, as they're currently not labeled as gambling, or at least in the US they're not. That's what Kalshi is fighting for at the moment. Is it gonna be regulated as gambling, as some people are saying it is?" "If we look back at how crypto started and it grew and grew and grew, you had so many jurisdictions that were open to just do whatever you want, but then regulators started to catch up on them. Then, as some things happened in the US, you had regulators enforcing stuff rather than trying to provide the framework." "We're gonna see the same with prediction markets because this is growing as an industry, so everything else is gonna catch up with it, including taxes, including where the money's going."

I do understand people's reluctance when it comes to oh someone's gonna recognize me in the street and they're gonna think that whatever, so I get that." "As well I do think however when it comes to content creators it's really really hard right now uh unless you're in crypto to do anything without showing your face." "But in terms of the stream uh again anyone who's gonna come on the stream they don't have to be doxxed. They can use their their PFP just as a static image. Maybe we're gonna find a way in the future to actually animate all of them I'm pretty sure AI is gonna get there and I don't mind I love NFT PFPs."
