Adam Wharton is another incomplete midfielder you need to build a wall around to cover his OOP issues. For me, he's like Enzo Fernández in that sense: a central midfielder you must avoid playing deep in the pivot, but must stay on the pitch for his attacking qualities.

@ChicagoDmitry @ArminCFC_ @FeatherFastCFC This is just not true, fundamentally it’s the way coaches have played them with neither really sitting. On an individual level, Enzo can’t run, can’t pass in transition and routinely gives the ball away.

@FeatherFastCFC Look, if we want to keep it 100, the problem is Caicedo/Enzo pairing is more Caicedo than Enzo. It's really hard to find good ways to accommodate a ball winning midfielder who wants to run up and down the pitch in a midfield 2 unless he's Kante level.
