@ThrillaRilla369 If we didn’t eat what was set before us, we would go hungry. Sometimes we would have to eat it the next day instead of the new meal she prepared which was usually something we wouldn’t want to miss out on.

It’s very interesting that what’s highlighted is how she quickly fell in love with Mary but there’s no mention of Jesus, who is in fact, the main character.

If you’ve never participated in the Great Canon of Andrew Crete at a Byzantine Catholic Church, make the time to do so today or put it on your calendar for next year. 3 hours of beautiful prayers & hymns. 279 total prostrations! My legs feel like Jello, but my spirit is soaring!

Hopefully the Church will realize that loving the Jews means telling them about Jesus and praying for their eyes to be open. We already knew that most Jews don’t believe Jesus is God. Your definition of Zionism is a twisted narrative pushed by evil podcast warriors. If you read your Bible without using your carnal mind, but rather, help from the Holy Spirit, you might find why Christians don’t want to leave the Jewish people to be hit by a car and the significance of the land of Israel.

Even finer than Carrabba’s or Red Lobster is a home cooked meal with family to share it with.
Matt Walsh@MattWalshBlog

@JesseKellyDC Yes those of us with sophisticated literary taste prefer to eat at finer establishments like Carrabba’s Italian Grill

The reason they said that was because they didn’t understand that he came to die so we could have eternal life (our spirit wouldn’t be separated forever from God) You’re taking Scripture out of context. He even clarifies in verse 63 and says, “The Spirit gives life. The flesh counts for nothing.”

I've thought about becoming a Roman Catholic for about a year or so now. Some have suggested Anglican as I'm still opposed to the papacy and the necessity to pray through saints. I also don't buy that you have to be Catholic or Orthodox, specifically, in order to be saved. I think the core elements of Christianity are extremely simple. Not easy, but simple. I've been a Christian virtually all my life, but as I've aged, I've learned that most people add extra baggage onto their faith in order to seemingly keep themselves busy.

@MelissaGilmer3 @subduedstamping @DSPetolicchio If Jesus wanted us to eat his flesh he would have handed his skin to his disciples to eat instead of breaking bread with them. He doesn’t need to turn bread into his flesh when he could just give it to us which would be incredibly disturbing.

@choconservative @subduedstamping @DSPetolicchio Also, the Eucharist is not cannibalism because that is eating dead human flesh. Christ’s divine flesh is alive. “Jesus and the Jewish Roots of the Eucharist” by Brant Pitre is an incredible book about the theology of the Eucharist.

Why does death separate us? For the same reason their spirit cannot roam the earth. They have not been given a new physical body yet like Christ when he arose. Also, Paul didn’t tell us that we could pray to them. He told us we can pray to the Father through Jesus and that the Holy Spirit intercedes for us. He doesn’t say, “Pray to the cloud of witnesses that surrounds us.”

@choconservative @subduedstamping @DSPetolicchio Curious, why do you think death separates you from a saved believer who has passed on? We are all in the Body of Christ and Paul attests to the existence of our cloud of witnesses. If they are witnessing us, why couldn’t they hear our prayer requests?

Michael Knowles just said that we should not talk to the dead. “Be among the living.” “Don’t talk to your dead dad.” He’s Catholic so he has some explaining to do. Why would it be different when praying to saints? @michaeljknowles podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the…

The Duggars raised not one, but two pedophiles, and they did it on national TV. I have really serious, really dark questions about what went on in that home, how many people knew, and for how long.

A request for prayer from a friend who is still in the physical is different than talking to a departed spirit who is now in the heavenly realm. It’s a different realm and I lift my prayers to God, so lifting prayer also to the saints would be placing them equal to him. As for the Eucharist, he is not incapable, but he is also not cannibalistic. I believe it does transformative work of the cross inside us but doesn’t transform into flesh.

@choconservative @DSPetolicchio Do you not ever ask friends to pray for you? That's what Catholics ask of the saints, who are alive in Heaven, nearer to God then anyone still here in earth. As for the true presence in the Eucharist, so you think God is incapable? He operates outside of time, and He can do all.
