Now that I have an old Land Rover and regularly take the dog with me I understand the appeal of the truck + dog combination.

@danielraffel I’ve been fortunate to have positive experiences with 98% of my Airbnbs (and I’ve stayed in ~150). As a host it was a bit more hit or miss. I do agree the whole services and experiences thing is wholly unnecessary.

Just fell down the “slot car racing” rabbit hole HARD. How did I not know this world existed? (model train landscapes meets car racing). 5yo is gonna get 1:43 Carrera Go from 🎅🏻 (ssh!) Any advice/tips appreciated!

@schwa23 For PS5 Horizon games are great. I’ve heard great things about Returnal but I’ve not played yet. Last of Us as well but probably a little too adult.

@chrisp co-op is nice but not a requirement. Taking turns/watching is still fun for me :)

Speaking of my 9yo: Any recommendations for a good story-based game (ps5 or switch) that would be good to play together? Spider-man / miles morales was great. He’s played some Uncharted but I think it’s just a bit mature.

@migurski Whetstone is the best overall but have to get stones, learn technique, etc. Hida tool (Berkeley) has some very good stones. Otherwise the electric ChefsChoice are very good. Serrated / Scalloped blades should go to a pro or the manufacturer. Too easy to screw up :)
