People who go into trades tend to have a lot of tenacity, and I think most could apply that discipline to succeed at almost anything. I know another UK electrician doing similar things as Ben, and myself and a couple of friends are happy customers. It’s inspiring.

Probably the most important thing to learn is how to work independently and actually finish things without relying on others. That’s a skill that’s going to matter a lot in an AI-driven future.

What a personal failure that it took me so long to stumble on this email.

You can kinda tell how self-sufficient someone is simply by how many times they ask you things they should be asking an agent. This isLMGTFY all over again.

A clear example is how often people ask me things they’d be better off asking an agent.

This is the most annoying thing in Claude Code. Hiding raw text when you paste more than 4 lines. Terrible UX decision.

Almost everything I consume now is made in a fundamentally different way than it was made a hundred years ago (if it even existed then). Our priors are holding us back.

People who want to shortcut learning will always find a way. I don’t really care how someone gets to a solution if it helps them move forward and solve real problems. And if I don’t like how something was made, I can just choose not to engage with it.

Couldn't agree more. It's just so crazy when you think about how much some people kept in their head for so long. Also, I think a lot about misc feedback I've given people on projects that were mid-flight and how painful it must have been to hear/get while managing everything.
