Watching back the Grand National, that’s a ride Ben Jones will want back on Jordans! He’s made a real name for himself this season, but that looked like a rush of blood on the big stage. Travelling alongside I Am Maximus at Valentine’s, he then goes wide, kicks on far too early, and effectively tries to win it from over a mile out. To still finish 3rd after forcing it like that is some effort. But with a bit more patience, you can’t help but feel he’d have won. x.com/RacingTV/statu…

I think the ride on Jordan’s in the Grand National, for me, goes down as the worst I’ve seen in my lifetime The judgement, the occasion, how obviously bad it was, all sorts. The worst ride I’ve ever seen.

I think that was the RIGHT decision, instead of stopping that forward momentum he had built. Stop that momentum & the horse may not then get going as well.

I feel being so far back was the actual reason Jordans lost today. Had he been closer, I think Ben sits & waits longer, instead he's tried to get him involved & the horse has been so full of running he's ended up getting there so easily he had to go for it & try and win the race

@joshtoole91 Jordans hasn't won over longer than 2m 2 1/2f. He was unlikely to stay no matter how he was ridden.

I am maximus is probably always catching Jordans and won a shade cosily in the end anyways, however you still can’t deny that Ben Jones has lost his head by going for home so early on Jordans

Some run by my long term roughie fancy Jordans, went down on his sword in 3rd. The great race has been watered down so much that it’s making it easier for these horses to run well each year but tbf to the winner it’s some achievement

@GLynchRacing The horse was racing too freely so he had to let him go. If he'd have held onto him, he wouldn't have got home. Great ride imo.

On the final circuit, as they were coming to the second fence before Becher’s , Jordans was joint last. Less than a mile later, he’s in front and goes clear after doing a 13 second furlong. Holy God. Extraordinary to watch the replay. Hard luck if you backed it. 🫣
