Last night I hosted a Welcome Wagon dinner for an investor new to NYC - nothing overly structured, just a chance for a group of good folks to meet and chat. I ended up on the side of the table with three investors who were parents, and it it was fantastic - reducing / eliminating tech addiction (always having a book to read helps, and being comfortable not knowing instead of having to look everything up on a phone when a question arises), emotional regulation and navigation ("fishbowl vs. fishtank vs. ocean"), siblings supporting each other, educational costs in different states, and helping to educate on what different sides of the political spectrum listen to. Most days are filled with work conversation, so it was nice to get a change of course. I suppose my deep curiosity with that topic also suggests something about where I am in my life and readiness for the next phase... Looking forward to the next random conversation.

I've been around/investing in bitcoin since 2014, but @mikealfred turned my head in 2023. There are fundamental things to understand here. That is what so many ppl on Wall Street are still missing. And that leads to higher prices (not financial advice, obv).

@zachweinberg I don’t disagree with you. But also had a buddy who got $20k when his grandparent passed. This allowed him to go to school and get a degree. So one time 18k to Americans could very much help others prosper
