@BelkReport @brgerd1 The staff (GM included) really did have it right with the 2 year plan with the players we brought in last offseason. Unfortunately the $$ just got crazy and we couldn’t keep up.

@chtoder @brgerd1 Oh yeah, I don’t think he made the right decision. I think stating one extra year à la Reed Bailey and getting a MASSIVE bag the year after you breakout is the smart move.

This makes sense. Obviously he’s going home, but also he can get ~$500k at a school like Ohio State and be able to develop over a few years. I think he could be a solid big ten role player his Junior Year for sure.

@brgerd1 @BelkReport This is exactly how I feel as well. I don’t begrudge him at all for this decision, it’s just a year too early.

@BelkReport I get it, and nothings a lock in the future, but Id have loved to see him stay another year and show he can handle a bigger scoring role at Davidson before going home. As a depth option at OSU theres no guarantee hell get on the court and have the chance to show he belongs.

@Jay__Catsby I’m very curious where Landry will end up. I’d love him on our staff but it looks like that ship has sailed.

New Campbell president: We want to be like Furman. So we should hire someone with connections there. Campbell AD: You sure? We got this guy who took a historically terrible D3 program and rebuilt it and won a ton. Pres: I said get the Furman guy!

2027 will be a massive year of transition for #A10WBB. Starting with the new Commisioner at the top, losing two of the top coaches in the league, double digit big names to graduation and the portal. Lots of opportunity for new stars to emerge, but also for lots of growing pains

@n1a2v3y4 If koerkenmeier stays SLU is definitely dangerous. Was pleasantly surprised to not see Gabby Reynolds in the portal for GW. She could be excellent next season for them

@chtoder Saint Louis and GW and two names I’m keeping an eye on this offseason. Chance to build around some really talented returning players.

Nice hire for Virginia WBB, Aaron Roussell did a great job at Richmond. Lot of experience at high academic schools. Hope the hometown kid Kymora Johnson stays home to finish out her career at UVA! Better offensive system now #ncaaw

@OSUHoopsInsider He was also recruited by several MAC schools. If he wants to increase his value with playing time better off to go to a MAC team instead of being an “end of the bench piece” at OSU

A Columbus, Ohio native is set to visit the Ohio State Buckeyes. The 6’6” forward viewed as a potential depth piece at the end of the bench.

@Jay__Catsby Agreed! I desperately want to see how Manie develops with a long stretch of good health. And Ian has NBA draft pick potential. Fans are crashing out due to our departures but I think we’ve done a decent job at retention. (I’m still sad about RJ, Devin, and Bobs)

@chtoder It’s a great core to build a team around. And I think every one of those guys will improve a lot this offseason.

I kind of hope we don’t get anyone in the portal. I wanna see the Coval, Sam Brown, Joses, Scovens, Platteeuw, w JQ sixth man lineup all play 35 mpg next year.

@Jay__Catsby All kidding aside those 6 you mentioned could be a good core with offseason improvement and good health (especially for Manie). We need SGs but the portal is full of those, much harder to replace the bigs and PGs we retained. Really would like to find the $$ for Devin but 🤷‍♂️

@BelkReport That’s great! I keep hearing from other people that we are not approaching that level but I don’t know who to believe

@chtoder You keep saying stuff like this, and I can promise you that WBB is getting top end money relative to the A10 and their peers.

@BelkReport Of course! My point is that it seems we don’t have the money to field a team as talented as last years given the dramatic $$ increase players are asking for this offseason
