@GaryMarcus I'm reading it. But I have to run out the door. I'll send you a proper reply when I finish.
English

@GaryMarcus I still think your laughing emoji reply will age like milk. Because my opinion is still the same as my initial reply.
For the record I agree with you that scaling alone isn't going to solve it. It will be scaling, context engineering, RL, and human creativity.
English

@chubes4 then maybe you wanna retract your spoiled milk comment. but whatever.
English

@GaryMarcus I'm not in the business of making tech predictions, I stated my opinion.
I think we can create something very close to AGI right now by combining the methods I described.
I don't need you to agree with me. I also don't really appreciate the condescending tone. But whatever.
English

@chubes4 my tech predictions over the last year have (per an independent survey) been 90% correct. how about yours?
English

@ai_for_success We are not coming for anyone, just trying to make a product people love!
English

@nayshins next generation linter is just a list of markdown files checked in parallel against git diff changes with a fast model
someone needs to build this

@bdmarotta @Dee_Tay_ler @DavidSHolz @midjourney The first time i ever used Midjourney i went viral on Google discover with AI generated images of Jerry Garcia and made over $1000 in one day. Back in 2023. Just saying
English

@Dee_Tay_ler @DavidSHolz @chubes4 @midjourney It's true that most of what I do with AI I discovered by playing around with the tools, not because I went into it with a pre determined idea. I suspect I'd discover a use case with this as well that I didn't realize till I had it.
English

.@midjourney could increase their revenue by offering an API. One of the few AI companies that doesn't. Might be principled, but the result is that it only exists through third parties.
Gavin Purcell@gavinpurcell
midjourney is an interesting example of an ai company that completely rejected the scale play... and now might be suffering for doing so also, 'this is just what it costs' is interesting customer service messaging
English

@PaulSolt Opus 4.6 unless I hit the Anthropic limits then I swap to GitHub Copilot sub with GPT 5.4.
English

@sweatystartup I disagree with you, my fellow Huber. AI is immediately useful and exciting, not a speculative bet.
English

@DavidGQuaid How about a Reddit CLI inside of a WordPress plugin that you can use via server side OpenCode?
English

@DavidSHolz @bdmarotta @midjourney Generating images from WordPress to use inside of blog content. For a while, I was creating them in Discord, but it became too slow to manually download, optimize, and upload. So I (reluctantly) started using Replicate / Google Imagen instead.
English

@chubes4 @bdmarotta @midjourney how does the api play into your workflow? are you using all custom tools at this point?
English

@DavidSHolz @bdmarotta @midjourney I barely use Midjourney anymore because it doesn't have an API despite the images being the best. Please create an API for Midjourney. I still have my annual subscription but it's coming up for renewal in June.
English

@bdmarotta @midjourney its not clear an API will drive much revenue right now, no one is making 'enough images' for a pay-per-image biz model to work. there might be a 'higher subscription' play that works for professionals and small biz though, but still not obvious it is a huge boon
