We have received two unconfirmed reports from vehicle owners that the update 2026.8.6 was pulled due to delays with loading the rear camera and receiving the error “Camera Temporary Unavailable”.
The scope of this bug is not known, but is not impacting all Tesla vehicles.

We’ve observed a majority of Tesla vehicles with 2026.8.6 pending (whether awaiting install or download) have had the update pulled from their vehicles worldwide. This also impacted our own vehicle. No official insight into the decision at this time can be provided.

The third and largest wave of Tesla software update 2026.8.6 is now going out to the global fleet.
This wave includes HW3 and AI4 vehicles.

FSD scared the crap out of me and my wife.
We were headed out of town and my wife was taking zoom calls in the backseat and I was relaxing letting FSD do all of the work. We were following behind a cement truck and as we went through the intersection, the cement truck ran the light at the last minute, as soon as FSD was able to see the light it turned red and FSD slammed on the brakes. My wife’s laptop went sliding across the car, but we got stopped, and then FSD backed us up behind the line.

Kinda wild everything a HW4 Tesla is doing right now, a HW3 vehicle will too.
We aren't even close to maxing out HW4 abilities.

Already living it! I walked to school in the snow as a kid... now I use FSD all the time with my kids in the car on HW3. Feels like I'm the parent telling the "back in my day" stories while they grow up thinking self-driving is totally normal. The future is here faster than I expected! 🚗❄️

This is such garbage as always from MSM. Just get the ACTUAL DATA to show whether FSD was on or not. This actual data is available to the owners of the vehicle.

FSD’s awareness continues to impress! It identified a crash ahead (before i saw it) and confidently routed around a disabled vehicle and tire in the lanes.

Drop $8k on FSD before Feb 14 → car totaled April 1 (post-deadline, transfers expiring soon) → out the full $8k with no transfer left?
Insurance might cover some value, but you're SOL on keeping/transferring the feature. Even without a crash, break-even vs sub is brutal: ~80 months at current $99/mo. If it jumps to $200/mo like many expect once unsupervised rolls out? Break-even stretches to 40+ months—still years of waiting to recoup, or forever if prices keep climbing. Tough gamble right now.

1. When you buy the FSD package in full, you get access to all self-driving features your car can run. No need to pay more for anything.
2. Hardware 3 customers can transfer their FSD to a new hardware 4 car by the end of the quarter. No guarantee FSD transfer will be offered after that, but it might.
3. For hardware 3 customers who choose to keep their cars, they will receive a V14 lite software update, estimated to arrive in Q2 2026. IF Tesla determines that a hardware upgrade is required for full autonomy, that hardware upgrade will be provided to HW3 owners free of charge IF they purchased the FSD package in full. Tesla has not yet made a determination that a computer upgrade will definitely be required, but it is strongly suspected that one will be needed.

I really think @elonmusk and @tesla need to clarify a few things with FSD ASAP, since we’re clearly on the cusp of a step change in capability.
We need clearly defined answers to the following:
- If I spend $8k on FSD before Feb 14th, will that lock me in for Unsupervised FSD? Yes or no? If no, what capacity will I get locked into exactly? If no extra capability, is Tesla simply saying they will increase the price of Supervised?
- FSD transfer ends March 31st. How does that impact HW3 owners that purchased FSD up front? Depending on the above re: FSD unsupervised, Tesla has said “they will take care of the owners”. What does that mean exactly?

I’ve been getting a lot of DMs from people who are interested in buying FSD for $8k before February 14 but are worried if they will have to pay more on top of the $8k for FSD Unsupervised once it launches. @elonmusk

Questions @Tesla needs to answer about FSD for owners/buyers to be able to make informed decisions on current and future cars (and potentially purchasing FSD while able to): 1. Does full purchase FSD (S) offered today give you FSD (U) when available? 2. Will there be an additional subscription or upgrade path to FSD (U)? 3. Will FSD transfers come back? 4. When will "V14 lite" for HW3 come out or what is the plan to take care of HW3 FSD owners? 5. Will FSD (S) remain $99/month when FSD (U) is released? 6. With FSD (U), will Tesla take liability? Otherwise it is not truly Unsupervised. 7. Will owned FSD (S) still be available on S/X/CB with Luxe after Feb 14? 8. Will EAP to FSD upgrade purchase be available after Feb 14? 9. Will a base AP subscription or purchase be available for new cars only coming with TACC? 10. Will HW4 cars be able to be upgraded to HW5? 11. Will customer-owned HW4 cars actually be capable of FSD (U)? Only front bumper cam HW4? Did I miss anything?
