@BLSmith2112 Grok update is HW3/HW4 then there’s
Pet mode
Sketchpad
Trip stats
Auto-install updates
Weather maps improvements
Dashcam improvements
And the Apple/spotify improvements
All work on HW3/HW4
FSD app is for noobs
Lights/sound/visuals update is nice but not game changing…
English

Tesla updates for HW3 are basically non-existent at this point. When I got my 2022 Model 3 (Intel Atom, HW3) I didn't think it would be outdated so fast. For a "computer on wheels," cell phones get better support than my $53k car. Will now wait for HW5.

@timmerenginerd @FuturamaKing Tesla embeds telemetry data in all of their cars’ saved dashcam clips and I made an iPhone app that extracts them and visualizes them in the most customizable way possible.

@olegkutkov @Tesla 1.44MB is exactly enough space to store one second of dashcam footage
English

I connected a 3.5'' floppy drive to my @Tesla, and it works.
It's nice that the Linux kernel still supports this subsystem. The system script mounts any detected disk drive (with some exceptions) as external storage for Sentry/Dashcam/media source.
It's even possible to play a single MP3 file from the diskette.
Unfortunately, formatting the diskette to exFAT fails, and it can't be used with Sentry. It's a shame.

𝐖𝐀𝐓𝐂𝐇 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐓𝐄𝐒𝐋𝐀 𝐀𝐕𝐎𝐈𝐃 𝐀 𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐎𝐏𝐇𝐈𝐂 𝐂𝐑𝐀𝐒𝐇 𝐈𝐍 𝐀 𝐒𝐏𝐋𝐈𝐓 𝐒𝐄𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐃
This dashcam footage is unreal. A Tesla’s 𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐄𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 and handling system kicked in and avoided what would have been a devastating collision — reacting faster than any human driver could have.
This is the technology the media spent years telling you was dangerous. They ran wall-to-wall coverage of every Tesla accident while ignoring that Teslas are involved in 𝐟𝐞𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐧 than virtually any other vehicle on the road. NHTSA’s own data shows Tesla’s Autopilot-engaged crash rate is a fraction of the national average.
The same people who want to ban autonomous driving technology have no problem with the 𝟒𝟎,𝟎𝟎𝟎+ 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜 𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐬 that happen every year from human error. Distracted driving, drunk driving, fatigue — all things a computer doesn’t do. The National Safety Council calls motor vehicle deaths “𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘫𝘶𝘳𝘺 𝘥𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘩 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘜𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘴.” But sure, let’s regulate the technology that just saved someone’s life on camera.

NEW APP: FUSIONCAM FOR VIEWING TESLA DASHCAM FOOTAGE 🚀
It's been a long time coming, but today I finally released the first public version of my new multi-camera Dashcam viewer app named FusionCam!
FusionCam is a minimalist app for iOS, iPadOS, and macOS that lets you view Dashcam and Sentry Mode footage from Tesla vehicles in a synchronized multi-camera grid with real-time telemetry overlays such as speed, gear, and Autopilot status. It scans dashcam folders, automatically groups events, and allows you to play back footage or export composite videos with a clean, streamlined overlay.
The app began as a personal project I created for myself to more easily share dashcam clips recorded by my Tesla vehicles. Over time it evolved to the point where I decided to formally release it on the App Store as a complement to the excellent functionality Tesla has already built into their mobile app.
Download v1.0.3 below and let me know what you think!

When you mount a camera to your car and run it every time you FSD in your Tesla, you’re bound to catch those little moments of pure magic that give you chills.
This might be my favorite I’ve ever captured.
Here’s a very awkward edge case. I am approaching a railroad crossing from an adjacent road. At the very moment I approach the stop sign, the lights begin to flash, and the bell begins to ring. FSD V14.2 does its NHTSA stop, and is at the point when it would normally proceed (BEFORE the gate arms begin to fall). FSD is able to gather context from the flashing red lights and the sound of the bell. From an adjacent road. Without any gate arm movement as additional cue.
I really wasn’t sure here, and thought I might need to take over because of our awkward positioning, and because the arms weren’t going to drop before FSD would typically go. But nope. No problem for the sentient AI.
As a cherry on top… when the gate lifts, the silver car waves me on and FSD begins to engage the right turn, but it stops before executing the turn….
Wtf?… oh lol. Forgot my robot car has eyes on the side of its head.
Unbelievable technology. This company is at the very beginning of something incredible. Sustainable abundance or die trying.

Here's a not-so-great Tesla Full Self-Driving moment from last evening.
While taking an exit ramp, I think the AEB system activated and the car slowed to 13MPH.
I’m not sure if it was reacting to the road, shadowed area, bridge, or lights above.
I’m sure it was AEB because the accelerator pedal input was ignored even after FSD was disabled.
Thankfully, there was no harm, no foul, as no one was behind us.

@FredLambert @28delayslater Tesla's FSD blowing through a railroad crossing is exactly the kind of thing you want documented. GuardReel reads your USB directly — full res, all angles, ready to share with telemetry and maps. Free, ad supported. apps.apple.com/app/id67588111…

A Threads user named Laushi Liu posted dashcam footage from his Tesla Model 3 on Sunday, March 8, showing the vehicle on “Full Self-Driving” mode at 23 mph near West Covina, California. In the video, the car approaches a railroad crossing where barriers have just come down — and drives straight through them.
The timing is almost poetic: this video drops the day Tesla is supposed to finally hand NHTSA the data from its FSD violation investigation, after two deadline extensions. We’ll be watching to see whether Tesla actually delivers, and what that data reveals about just how common these railroad crossing failures really are.

I never thought I’d be posting one of these Tesla clips; however, Tesla Self Driving, saved me and my daughter’s life tonight. We are in Michigan right now for her horseback riding competition, it is so foggy tonight, and driving back to our hotel a car that could not see in the fog was driving in our lane heading towards us. I was paying attention, and the oncoming car did not look like it was in our lane; however, the Tesla could see better than I could, and knew it was in our lane, and it took quick action to move us out of harm’s way. Unbelievable.
