Sept 30th 25...Norfolk UK (53degsN) When the skies clear right before she pops... could see the build up right from dark, with a green horizon right across the North into NW... Typically skies cleared fully but didnt produce colours or beams quite like this until early hours...

@chunder10 @MetJam_ @cassidy_rachel Clouded out yesterday evening. Had quite a lot of lightning and thunder around 4am. Missed the rain though. After a sunny day the mid level cloud and cirrus is redeveloping so not sure it will be clear here unless it melts away again.

If its clear tonight I think I'm going to keep an eye on the northern sky for Nocs going by the MAARSY plot. Looked like there might have been some some on the webcam in Perm, Russia yesterday evening after 10pm UK time. The two might be connected?

A clear coronal wave is visible in running difference in SDO AIA 211A data - a CME is being launched. AR 4436 is in an Earth-facing position, despite being slightly past the central meridian, and it is likely that there will be an Earth-directed component in the CME. The CME does not look particularly fast. Awaiting coronagraph images.

@JAtanackov 14886 springs to mind in 47, that was huge 😳 wonder if this could be similar 🤔

Heads up, an enormous active region has developed on the far side of the Sun! Impressive size and magnetic configuration - look at that magnetic inversion line in the intermediate part of the region. Looks like one of the biggest active regiona of the cycle so far. Keep an eye on it! Thanks to @kryptohb for the note!
