Absolutely extraordinary exchange between Israel and China 👇 I've never seen such a heated exchange come out of top-level forum in China (this is from the 12th Beijing Xiangshan Forum that started yesterday), this normally never happens. The guy speaking is Yan Xuetong, the dean of the Institute of International Relations at Tsinghua University, the most prestigious university in China. Speaking for Israel is a military officer apparently called Elad Shoshan. Yan Xuetong truly doesn't hold back: - When the Israeli officer tries to bullshit him around how Israel supposedly protects civilians in Gaza, he replies: "You killed more than 70,000 civilians!... The fact is not decided by you... It is not decided by your government. Your government has no legitimacy or the right to decide or defend what is fact" - And when told that the war will end when Hamas release hostages he replies: "No, this kind of propaganda have too many. No one believe it! Too many! Too much! No one believe it, except a few Israelis"

OOPS. Vietnam is set to overtake China in the work of expanding islets in the South China Seas, a US think tank admitted in a new report. Hanoi has launched reclamation programs which “all but ensures that Vietnam will match—and likely surpass—the scale of Beijing’s island-building,” says a study by the US Center for Strategic and International Studies, launched this month. . AWWWKWARD This finding is seriously awkward. The US strategy is to paint China as the sole villain in the area. This is despite the fact that Taiwan, Vietnam, Japan, the Philippines and other countries have disputed claims in the area – and the real biggest threat comes from a massive US operation to build warship harbors in coastal waters, to add to the dozens of US army bases in the region. “Recent satellite imagery shows that Vietnam has undertaken dredging and landfill work at Alison Reef, Collins Reef, East Reef, Landsdowne Reef, and Petley Reef, all of which had previously housed only small concrete pillbox structures,” the new CSIS report said, referring to islets in a clusters of rock outcrops in the sea known as the Spratly Islands, claimed by Brunei, Chinese Taiwan, the Philippines, Malaysia, China, and Vietnam. Once Vietnam becomes the biggest islet-expander in the area, it will make it harder to paint China as the villain. . THE ACTUAL AGGRESSOR The US is unofficially employing the Philippines government to send out vessels to create conflicts in the area, which the western mainstream media then blame on “Chinese aggression”. But perhaps the most absurd element of the South China Seas story is that the international media will portray the building of a Chinese hut on a tiny island as “military aggression” while omitting to mention that the US has scores of massive military bases across the whole of East Asia, in South Korea, Taiwan island, Japan, the Philippines and so on. As if, somehow, those don't count.
