on a tangentially related note, I continue to see people post about doujin they read on mrm like they don't know it's all illegal and stolen. maybe they don't! maybe we need fandom orientation

it's definitely buckwild that someone would ask the mangaka directly about this 🥲 but a lot of people just haven't learned yet, like maybe that person genuinely thought the discord was official. I try to have grace for that, but man. It's hard to not just think they're an idiot

as an Old that has been through several socmed fandoms, the thing I've had to accept is that new people keep being born and growing up so YES it is always the first fandom for many, with the same recycled discourses and faux pas because they truly just got here
