@bla_woofer Too much content hurts the artistic process just like watching too much sports tv without ever dribbling a basketball.
Too much practice on things (like basic exercises) that don't take effort is like going to the gym and lifting the same weights without increasing difficulty.

i think with fundamentals it is also a problem of there are 300 videos that explain it but to really get perspective i have to learn it in my own brain language.
and teaching art is a bit like teaching music where you can talk past each other easily

Also once you start doing it so your art improves dramatically. Its not an unnecessary thing you can just ignore. you NEED to learn these principles so your brain can draw anatomy, proportion, angles, color and shade automatically without it feeling like a chore
