There is a lot of to say about the pride month discourse; there is not a single materialist argument against queer liberation. Queer people should continue to organize communists should contribute to the trend pulling the LGBTQ+ movement away from careerists and capitalists.

Food for thought, its worth noting that the passing of this budget deal depended far more on democrats than it did republican support; meaning that there's a large democratic consensus for austerity and that there was clearly some room for Biden to extract a better deal

A big issue for many American socialists, "leftists," etc. is a failure to distinguish democratic participation and democratic struggle. They believe that because the voting system is broken, engaging in struggles with those especially isolated from that system is also fruitless.

Red Star condemns the votes by DSA's endorsed Congressional electeds against the demands of the rail unions. We are, again, seeing a failure of our electoral work to foster class struggle and a mass movement that would advance that struggle.

Socialists don't vote for state intervention against the workers movement. We need to radically rethink the political approach that's gotten us here and start to act like a real opposition party, not imagine that when the capitalist Democratic Party is in power, we somehow are.

I've heard "oh man if you don't say socialism or communism people love supporting xyz policy!" for years and connected to that I've seen hundreds of ppl in the last few years, sure that they're to the left of everyone but also sure that socialists shouldn't call themselves such
