@MrEustas @AyoBankole The question is does Nigeria's economy look like a booming economy to you?
English

We have a deep misunderstanding of entrepreneurship and mistrust in commerce generally. On top of that, we have the most negative kind of skepticism.
Business is a risk, businessmen are free to choose customer segments...Premium or Retail.
Both should grow in a booming economy because their is opportunity to earn more and migrate to a higher economic bracket or afford better quality goods & services.
There is no insult in business, only profit or loss.
Yes, both Premium and Retail can scale and endure for generations.
Na our Nigerian economy dey wowo daily and egg and meat is becoming luxury items.

One reason why very very few fashion brands have survived beyond their founders or for even two decades of consistent relevance in Nigeria is because they keep hustling for the share of wallet of the 0.1-1% of elites that can afford their prices. Most times personal networks of the founders. While China makes a kill serving the remaining 99%. You treat your own largest market segment with disdain, then leave them to China to serve. Then complain that China is threatening your market. Self sabotaging behavior.

I have a staff that annoys me so much, but there’s one reason he’s still with me.
This morning, I lost over 200k because of him.
A customer was traveling out of the country and came to our store this morning to buy kilishi. He specifically asked for our jumbo packs — the ones we sell for 15k.
We didn’t have any.
Meanwhile, we just finished production yesterday.
Only for me to find out that this staff instructed everyone in the packaging room to package ONLY regular packs of the one we sell for 2k, completely ignoring my directive.
Every single kilishi we produced yesterday was packaged into regular packs.
No single jumbo pack was packaged and we sell it more compared to the regular packs because it’s mostly people rebranding that buys them.
And the painful part?
Everyone did as he instructed because “he’s the senior staff” so they felt I was in support when I clearly told him to make sure they package the jumbo packs. One of the things I don’t like about his act is always showing the rest staff he’s the oldest staff.
That moment, I just stood there thinking…
How do you build a business, push sales like I do every day, attract customers… only to lose money because of avoidable internal issues?
I was so angry eh….
I just told him from today:
No one overrides my orders.
No verbal instructions without confirmation from me..
Because in business, it’s not only about making sales, it’s about protecting the sales you should have made.
Now we have entered emergency production because a lot of customers prefers the jumbo packs.
Today was painful, but it won’t repeat itself.

@dimmakilishi You have not told us the reason he's still with you. Are you the same father and mother?(siblings)?

Kwankwaso’s got more political pedigree and a much better and verifiable record as governor than Peter Obi. I understand Obidients being excited. Kwankwaso, atop a ticket with Obi as VP candidate, will help to give the pairing the sort of political gravitas Obi atop wouldn’t. Atiku and Amaechi remain major factors too.

I was talking to a friend recently about installing a tracker in my car. Just for peace of mind, you know? he laughed and said, Dammi!, it’s not even worth it.
I didn’t get it at first until he sent me picture of his own Toyota Fortuner. The car had two trackers installed.
It was st0len and after few hours, they found it, but definitely not the way you’d hope.
The SUV was completely bũtchêred. Only the chassis was left. Everything else gone. Just scraps.
Seeing the picture honestly changed how I think about all this.
Now I’m here, still considering putting a tracker in my car but I can’t l!e, it doesn’t even feel worth it anymore.
At this point, I’m just wondering.
Are trackers really about protecting your car, or just giving you a false sense of security? 🤔
