Kenya deserves leaders of integrity, not endless controversy.
@rigathi Gachagua rose to high office under a cloud of serious corruption allegations involving billions of shillings. Even the courts have questioned the source of his wealth.
But this story did not begin there.
In 1997, he was dismissed from the civil service while serving as a District Officer in Laikipia over gross misconduct. A matter he has never fully explained to the public.
In July 2021, he was arrested by the DCI at his Nyeri home over allegations of money laundering and abuse of office, tied to vast sums of money flowing through accounts associated with him.
Even within his own family, disputes have spilled into the open. Relatives of the late Nyeri Governor, Nderitu Gachagua, have raised concerns over the handling of a multibillion-shilling estate. Claims that remain contested, but serious enough to demand clarity.
Then came the unthinkable. For the first time in our history, a sitting Deputy President was impeached by constitutional institutions over violations of oath, divisive rhetoric and conduct deemed unfit for office.
This is a pattern that raises urgent questions:
Can we trust leadership weighed down by persistent integrity concerns?
Can a nation unite under divisive politics?
Can accountability mean anything if we ignore such a record?
I have challenged the impeached former Deputy President to state clear facts and stand firmly on integrity. If he wishes to lecture the nation, he must be ready to answer every question, not just the convenient ones.

As the Jewish state, Israel cherishes and upholds the Jewish values of tolerance and mutual respect between Jews and worshippers of all faiths. All religions flourish in our land and we view members of all faiths as equals in building our society and region.
Yesterday, like the overwhelming majority of Israelis, I was stunned and saddened to learn that an IDF soldier damaged a Catholic religious icon in southern Lebanon. I condemn the act in the strongest terms. Military authorities are conducting a criminal probe of the matter and will take appropriately harsh disciplinary action against the offender.
While Christians are being slaughtered in Syria and Lebanon by Muslims, the Christian population in Israel thrives unlike elsewhere in the Middle East. Israel is the only country in the region that the Christian population and standard of living is growing. Israel is the only place in the Middle East that adheres to freedom of worship for all. We express regret for the incident and for any hurt this has caused to believers in Lebanon and around the world.

@HonOscarSudi Orengo is the rison a klas thri drop aot laik yu kan tok keyalesli.
Indonesia

Ever since I was born I’ve been seeing Orengo in politics, but his politics are politics of poverty. He’s not a reformist and he has no development track record.
Orengo has the heart and spirit of leading people into poverty... instead of misleading Gen Z to go back to the streets, he should start with his own children.

President William Ruto: I know many people in Kenya keep asking why is it that sometimes the prices of fuel are different in Kenya from our neighbors. Kenya is a middle-income country. Our neighbors are least developed countries. There is a big difference. If you want to compare Kenya fairly with others, compare Kenya with other middle-income countries.

BREAKING:
🇱🇧🇫🇷🇺🇳 Macron announces that a French UNIFIL soldier was killed in southern Lebanon today
A helicopter brings the wounded French soldiers to Rouma hospital in Beirut
“Sergeant-Chef Florian Montorio of the 17th Parachute Engineer Regiment from Montauban fell this morning in southern Lebanon during an attack against UNIFIL.
Three of his brothers-in-arms are wounded and have been evacuated.
The Nation bows with respect and extends its support to the families of our soldiers and to all our military personnel engaged for peace in Lebanon.
Everything suggests that responsibility for this attack lies with Hezbollah. France demands that the Lebanese authorities immediately arrest the perpetrators and take their responsibilities alongside UNIFIL.”
