Recruiting Notes (Back in Action!!) Contact Period starts today. If you are a HS prospect in the 2025 (there may still be a need for select 2025’s) 2026, 2027, 2028 pay attention; Coaches can be in your school today. 1.) Most importantly, be present and be presentable. When we are trying to find out about a prospect we really want, we won’t just take 1 person’s opinion. We will ask the librarian the custodian, the secretary, the bus driver, someone who sees you and knows you and will give us valuable information on how you really are as a student/person. We all want student athletes who will elevate our program, not bring it down. 2) Remember you only get one chance to make a good first impression. Firm handshake, look them in the eye, speak up so they can hear. Smile! Small things like that go a long way. 3) Lots of times you might get stuck on what to ask. Here are some good topics; - Do you have a junior day or prospect day coming up? - Do you know how many HS prospects you plan to sign in December? - Do you have the camp schedule set for this summer? - Do you have a need at my position? -Have you seen my film? If so, what are some things I can do better? Remember, coaches are people too. They get in this business because they love the game and what it does for young people. Good luck to all! #BoilerUp

Recruiting Notes (11/12/24) Just a couple of reminders going into Fall Signing period; 2027 and below; please remember we are not allowed to interact with you yet. We can't reply to any DM's or text messages. We can't call you. Your time is coming but it's not right now. That doesn't mean we don't know about you; That doesn't mean we can't watch your film; I will say this though....stop sending messages saying you just need one chance. You have no idea about that yet. Talk to some 2025's about needing a chance. 2025's- Most FBS and FCS programs are full or close to full. If you don't have an FBS offer currently, there is a better than average chance that you won't get that offer before signing day. However, situations always arise, and it could change rapidly. The bright side is that most D2 teams are really just beginning their recruiting in earnest. You should see a huge uptick in their activity in the next few weeks. It's important to remember- do not gauge whether your playing career was a success or failure on scholarship offers. There's a reason schools take walk-on's and NFL takes free agents. Football is the greatest team game in the world. The lessons you learn from high school football are some are the hardest things to teach. Dedication, dependability, accountability, goal setting, failure, success, determination.....nothing teaches you about your future like high school football. 2026's- These are the golden times for you. Too young to sign and you still have time to make good decisions about your options. Most schools are gathering their 2026 targets; be proactive in gameday visits, unofficials and carefully planning out your June camp schedule. These upcoming 7 months will help shape your signing day in December 2025.

PLAYERS: If you're the most TALENTED player on your team, you should also be the HARDEST worker on the team. Lead by example. Set the standard. Be the standard. Your talent might not be contagious but your energy can be.
