Scientist at Met Office, interested in volcanoes, fires, pollution and anything else that gets dispersed in the atmosphere. Views/opinions my own.

The 2nd European VOs-VAACs workshop takes place online 8-10 Nov. Present are VOs from all over Europe along with the VAACs at Washington, Montréal, Exeter and Toulouse. #EUROVOLC #Volcanic #ash #volcano #observatories #EPOS Images show part of the very focused participants.

The 7th NAME user workshop starts today. Almost 80 scientists will meet online to discuss improvements to the NAME dispersion model and the dispersion of pollutants such as volcanic ash, wheat fungi and smoke from fire bit.ly/3gvEl1e

Air seems exceptionally clear to me this spring. Folk who know more about #airpollution than I do, could lockdown be a factor in such a rural area (Fort William)? Fewer cars, no steam train 3 times a day, smelter closed etc.

Looking for something to do while you #StayHomeSaveLives ? We are digitising climate observations from our station at Eskdalemuir Observatory that has been active for over 100 years! To get involved in this #CitizenScience project follow this link: bit.ly/2KtLkH2
