Authentic Maths took us to the woodwork station where we are designing and making shelving for the walls of our Year 6 shop ‘Y Caban Iach’. Seriously impressed with their carpentry skills. They’ll be fitted and stocked ready for next weeks customers @NerysTudor @EAS_STEM

We’ve had a fantastic WOW Week celebrating the coronation of King Charles III. We’ve investigated, researched, designed and finished with a party! What a week! 🤩

Year6 numeracy Shed to Shop project completed. Pupils staff rota began today as we welcomed our first customers to ‘Yr Caban Iach’, Year 6 Healthy Snack cabin. Amazing effort from all involved and big thanks to Gareth Hall @edb_uk for printing our menu boards. @EAS_ProfLearn

Our Eco Council had a fantastic opportunity to FaceTime Oisin from @reforestnow_au. Oisin helps to restore rainforests by planting about 10000 trees a week! He is giving us great tips for our saplings and will keep in touch to see the progress!🇦🇺🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿@EcoSchoolsWales @ecoschoolfran

Today we had some exciting news! The museum contacted us with their findings from our bone measuring! We mapped out the dimensions of the Ice Age animals using string! It’s safe to say we were all shocked at their size. Especially the wooly mammoth 🦣 #ambitious #authentic

Yesterday we had an exciting delivery from a museum! Lots of bones 🦴 to investigate. We measured them in cm and mm and sent our results to the museum. We’re waiting to see if they’re megafauna ice age animals!! How exciting! #authentic #ambitious #aweandwonder

We concluded our Welsh themed Wow week with a family workshop based on our visit to @StFagans_Museum yesterday! We were bakers and craftspeople … and even participated in a virtual workshop organised by the museum! We also got to tuck into the bara brith we baked earlier! Yum!

What a fabulous way to finish our Wonderful Wales Wow Week! Lots of Welsh music and folk dancing with our lovely families! Diolch yn fawr blwyddyn tri for all your hard work, have a wonderful half term! 😊

How much of the earth was actually effected by the Quaternary Ice Age? We investigated today! We used multiplication, tally charts and a calculator to work out the percentage. It’s going to be interesting finding out who has the closest percentage! #LNF #ambitious

An exciting authentic maths experience today using sweets. Miss is having a party 🎉 We made party bags by dividing sweets equally depending on the number of guests we had. We also thought about when else we could use this skill in real life situations #authentic #ambitious
